Small description of the match (extra-ordinary incidents etc.): It was a really poor turnout for the opening game of Group B between Cuba and Korea Republic held in the city of Kayseri. The Cubans were massive underdogs for this match and it was they who took a shock lead in the 7th minute through Reyes (CUB #9). For the remainder of the first half, Korea Republic dominated precedings creating many chances. However, try as they could, they could not come up with an equaliser. Five into the second half, Korea Republic were rewarded for their sustained pressure as they won a penalty. Kwon (KOR #10) stepped up and calmly dispatched it. Both nations were exchanging blows until the 83rd minute when Korea Republic got the winner their play deserved. Ryu (KOR #7) completed the comeback finishing a low cross from the right.

Referee
Crucial Decisions (refer to penalty kicks, sending-off situations etc.) Minute and Description of the Scene / Assessment of the referees decision akr only had one meaningful situation to address and it came in the 50th minute where he awarded a penalty to Korea Republic. At first glance, it looked very 50 harsh indeed. However, looking at further replays there was contact from CUB #9 but very minimum contact. In saying that, KOR #19 did go down very easily. This is a 50-50 call and I understand why akr gave it so it is not a crucial mistake.

Basic Observations (refer to the general application of the LotG, highlight the referees tactical approach, personality, match control, management of the teams and players, teamwork etc.). Please deploy short but precise and detailed sentences! Positive Points akr showed excellent fitness and was always close to the action. He also did 1. very well to keep up with play when both nations counter-attacked. Let the game flow as much as possible during the whole match. There were many 2. instances in this game where I saw akr's arms aloft signalling to the team in possession to play-on. Throughout the game in free-kick situations, akr used some sort of foam spray to indicate where the ball should be placed and where the wall should stand. I 3. don't think this technique is used as frequently in European football as it is in other parts of the world. However, It speeds up the taking of the free-kicks which is a good thing. There were occasions such as in the 37th and 40th minutes where he chose to 4. speak to offenders and warning them instead of cautioning. Points for Improvement In this easy match, there were no points to improve that should be pointed out by the observer.
