Small description of the match (extra-ordinary incidents etc.): Both teams had already gained 4 points in the first two matches and were therefore already qualified for the next round. Only the exact placement was still open. The match was not top-class, but nice to watch as the teams could show their qualities and created several scenes in the box. Iraq's win was a bit lucky, a draw would have been more deserved. For the experienced French referee Lannoy it was not an easy match, because the players did not hesitate to use physical play. Nevertheless the difficulty was normal, because there were no really critical situations to solve.

Referee
Crucial Decisions (refer to penalty kicks, sending-off situations etc.) Minute and Description of the Scene / Assessment of the referees decision

Basic Observations (refer to the general application of the LotG, highlight the referees tactical approach, personality, match control, management of the teams and players, teamwork etc.). Please deploy short but precise and detailed sentences! Positive Points He used his experience to give the viewers the feeling, that he has no problems 1. with this match, especially he had a good control, although there were a few protests. His tactical approach fitted well to the match. In the middle of the match, he tried 2. to be more lenient, but recognized it did not work well and returned to his normal line. Sensible use of the advantage rule: He often applied it, but sometimes he 3. stopped the match to calm the players down or allow treatment. Good handling of the injury time in the 2 nd half. Due to substitutions and injury 4. breaks as well as time wasting, 5 minutes were justified and correctly further extended. 5. Good teamwork, he used all assistants to support him a lot. Points for Improvement Two out of five yellow cards were too harsh. In 65', the caution ws for dangerous 1. play, but there was no contact, so it was as exaggerated as in 90+1' for a tactical foul, which was rather a collision than an intentional foul. 2. Some foul decisions were too soft and did not fit to his general line. He seems to run less than most of his colleagues at the tournament. This did not 3. lead to big problems, but being a bit nearer to the action would be nice sometimes.

Further observations (peculiarities of the referee revealing his character) The match was no challenge for an experienced referee like him. Nevertheless there were some small points of improvement, which should be fulfilled to be better than expected level.

Assistant Referee 1
Please assess the first assistant referees performance. Minute and Description of the Scene / Assessment of the ARs behaviour Not many offside decisions to take, but the few were correct. Furthermore helped 1-90 the referee with situations in his area.

Assistant Referee 2
Please assess the second assistant referees performance. Minute and Description of the Scene / Assessment of the ARs behaviour More offside decisions, mostly correct, including the good decision to allow the 11-90 0 goal (15). In 29 he raised his flag too early (no wait -and-see) and obstructed a good chance. Also good support of the referee, e.g at the YC in 83.

Fourth Official
Please assess the fourth officials performance. Minute and Description of the Scene / Assessment of the fourth officials behaviour He followed the match near to the sideline and sometimes moved along it. Good full time assistance in his area, e.g. with the position of the ball at a free kick. His other tasks were done in a normal way.
