CHICAGO - Northwestern University has rescinded an honorary degree awarded to Bill Cosby, marking the first time the institution has taken such action.
Trustees voted unanimously Monday to invalidate Cosby's honorary doctorate of humane letters awarded in 1997, citing years of sexual assault allegations culminating in his April conviction for aggravated indecent assault in Philadelphia.
