Of course we all use social media to present the most shiny, polished, perfect version of our lives, but nowhere is the deception more perverse than those first few status updates after giving birth. “Mom and baby are doing great!”

This is a lie.

I know, because I’m a liar. You see, I almost died after my son was delivered. A team of surgeons had to perform an emergency hysterectomy to save my life.
