How did the Gawler Cancer Foundation begin?

The Gawler Cancer Foundation began out of my own personal experience with cancer and a heartfelt wish to help others with what I had learnt. It all started in 1975 when, as a young veterinarian and decathlon athlete, my life was inextricably changed by a diagnosis of bone cancer and consequent leg amputation.
