The Pinnacles, Western Australia

Centered on the fishing village of Cervantes, the Pinnacles region of Western Australia stretches from Lancelin in the south to Port Denison in the north. It is sandwiched between the deep blue Indian Ocean and the arid inland. It is noted for its clean, calm seas, unusual geological formations and diverse flora and fauna. There are plenty of interesting subjects for your camera.

When to go

The best time to visit is between late August and October, when the wildflowers are blooming. However, in fine weather the coastline can be interesting year-round. If you visit in summer, take sunscreen, a hat and sun-blocking clothing and make sure you have plenty of water.
