OLD STROKERS CAN be machines of pure delight if fed the basics of petrol, quality oil and filtered air. They can run quite happily for an age with no apparent issues.
However, what you just might pick up on is a slow decline in performance over time. Many a stinkwheel devotee has played chase-the-fault and gone round in circles checking timing, air filters, carburettors and crank seals, but all to no avail.
