Samantha and her beads …
SAM CANDIDLY ADMITS that she only started making jewellery by chance. Her younger daughter Natalie used to be quite heavy-handed with her little bracelets and necklaces, and Sam was constantly fixing all the bits and pieces. Sam found she enjoyed working with the jewellery, and decided she wanted to make some pieces for herself. She quickly discovered that she could instantly deconstruct a piece of jewellery in her mind, just by looking at it, and work out how it was made, step by step. Surrounded by stones and beads and pieces of wire of different colours, she could also visualise how a finished piece of jewellery would look, even before it was made.
And so began her new career, which snowballed once the family moved to Tasmania. Sam
