The Ayes Have It
This quilt is made up of 35 regular- and 24 foundationpieced blocks. Each block is in a different fabric combination, with 42 of the blocks having fabric combinations that flow into surrounding blocks. It’s particularly important to follow the instructions regarding labelling of your fabrics, cut pieces and finished blocks to ensure the flow is maintained.
All blocks are set on-point, however for ease of instruction, all blocks, rows etc are assembled ‘on-square’ and the pieced top is simply tilted back to the familiar rectangle position when adding the border.
Leanne has specifically designed this quilt to be created with just 16 fat quarters (assuming the fat quarter has at least 17½in x 20in of usable fabric). The fabrics used here are all batik-style prints, but any collection of prints or random colours could work — just keep the flow in the right placement!
