Adam Long — the simplicity of socks

“The robots are coming for your jobs.” Not exactly the sentence you want to hear. Nor one that fills you with optimism for the future. But, as The Ethical CEO and co-founder of Conscious Step — a company that makes a donation directly to a charity for every pair of socks sold — Adam Long tells me, it’s a reality: right now, your boss is probably being pitched a software that will significantly reduce your workload, and eventually your job.

So how is this a positive thing?

It takes a very special “glass half full” kind of person to turn our dire future predictions of wealth distribution, environmental sustainability and job availability into something hopeful — but Long is that kind of person. He doesn’t sugar-coat any of this; yes, it could get scary. But he believes that with the right people in the right positions, we really can make this an abundant world — for everyone. Even if that starts with selling socks for good.
