In Perfect Harmony

It was only six in the morning, and it was the day of Bhai-Dooj. Bhai-Dooj was the festival that marked the love of brothers and sisters on the last day of the Diwali festival. They had been up late, lighting lamps and celebrating the festival the last few days. Now it was time to visit Dhadhima, their grandmother, Dhadhaji, their grandfather, and the rest of Mum’s family at their house.

‘I’m older so I get the top bunk in Dhadhima’s house,’ Manan yelled.

‘There’s no such rule,’ Sneha shouted back.

‘You two!’ snapped Dad. ‘I don’t want you fighting on Bhai-Dooj.’
