■ TRAFFIC AND TRACTION: Belmond-liveried GM No. 216 was working Mk.4 push-pull trains on Heuston/Cork services on a regular basis following completion of the Grand Hibernian’s 2019 season.

On October 22, the GM 201 Class+De Dietrich/Mk.3-worked Cross-Border ‘Enterprise’ service experienced reliability and adhesion issues during the morning. As a consequence, a decision was made to work the service with DMUs for the remainder of the day. This saw the 09.30 and 16.50 ex-Connolly worked by 29000 Class units.
