    Medieval fortress Langley Castle was once owned by two Jacobites, but now provides luxury accommodation

    2020 will mark the 275th anniversary of the 1745 Jacobite rebellion that sought to restore the exiled Stuart monarchy to the British throne. Led by Prince Charles Edward Stuart (aka ‘Bonnie Prince Charlie’), the rebellion started with great success in Scotland that culminated in an invasion of England. However, the uprising floundered and ended in bloody defeat for the Jacobites at the Battle of Culloden.
