“ACTUALLY, compared with my original idea, it was too big,” says Will Hobson, describing the first time he saw the space now inhabited by Cape Town’s most cherished corner shop that’s not on a corner. He and co-owner Stephanie Anastasopoulos have been running Arthur’s Mini Super* from a pocket-sized storefront in Sea Point, Cape Town, since December 2018, and have built up a devoted fanbase.
“Whuddup fam!” hails the trademark signage on the floor as you enter. This slang (to denote your close friends or chosen family) is apt, as the pair have created a community of likeminded folks who appreciate their philosophy that it’s all about the little things, and doing them well.
And the tiny location is no small
