PREDICTING THE FIRST ROUND

The industry is confident about two things at the top of the board: Oregon State catcher Adley Rutschman is a safe bet to go No. 1 overall to the Orioles, Texas high school shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. is the favorite for the Royals at No. 2. After that everything is fuzzy.

With the college pitching as weak as many evaluators can remember, the first round is expected lean heavily toward position players, especially at the top.
