Traffic light sprints to continental marathons

People roll their eyes when I tell them I didn’t really train for the Transcontinental. But I’m not sandbagging, I hastily protest. I’ll admit that I ride my bike every day, and probably cover more miles per year than most other non-professional cyclists, though I’ve never logged them. But I don’t follow a training plan. I’ve never done intervals, and when people talk about watts, the first thing I think of is a lightbulb.
