he Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Movies Pop-up, Sky 038, 12.33pm). screenwriter Eric Roth took F Scott Fitzgerald’s comic short story about a man who ages in reverse and turned it into an elegy and love story. It’s a wonder to watch and is brilliantly acted. The technical trickery involved in making Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt) grow young is also impressive (his face is digital for the first 52 minutes), but the film gives little insight into what it means to grow old. Even Benjamin is curiously uninterested in his own condition. (2008)
