All she wants to do is dance

While all the other ’90s teenagers were obsessing over Tori Amos or Pearl Jam, Sarah Foster-Sproull was more of a Tchaikovsky and Pachelbel kind of girl. “I had a geeky appreciation for classical music. I would hang out in my bedroom imagining what I would choreograph,” she laughs. “Totally on the down-low, of course – I wasn’t letting any of my friends know!”

Sarah was consumed by ballet: the music, the movement, the costumes. She’d been introduced to dance in a somewhat circuitous way through her family GP in rural Otago, who thought the discipline might help
