Plummeting prices of live game sales, persistent drought in some regions, and politics have contributed to more than a fair share of challenges for game farmers in South Africa over the last few years. Government’s plans for expropriation of land without compensation and the recent outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) added to the woes of the game farming sector.
The cost of feeding and caring for game without the prospect of better prices for live sales in the near future, does not offer a viable option for most game
