1 St Nowhere Spa and Campsite

This place is 110km north of Henties Bay; 7km north of Mile 108. It’s a popular fishing destination. Info on p70.

2 Mile 108 Campsite (NWR)

This campsite is 91km north of Henties Bay. It gets crowded in December and January but it’s deserted at other times of the year. Info on p70.

3 Cape Cross Seal Reserve

About 1kmorth of the seal colony – there are five platforms with shelter against the wind. Bring your own drinking and washing water. No power. Camping R100 p.p. Entrance fee to reserve R60 p.p. (SADC rate), plus R10 per vehicle.

4 Cape Cross Lodge

Just outside the Cape Cross Seal Reserve. Info on p 70.

5 Mile 72 Campsite (NWR)

This campsite is 36km north of Henties Bay. Camping R240 per stand for four people, R75 per extra person (max eight per stand). Campsite has no electricity and you have to buy water: R1 per litre; R10 per shower. Basic Fisherman chalet: R500 p.p. (sleeps two).

6 De Duine Hotel

7 Ietsiemeer Beach House

This luxury self-catering house is

at the end of Eros Street in Henties Bay, with great sea views. It’s ideal for bigger groups who want to stay together. Rent three of the en suite double rooms (six people in total) for R5200 p.n. (additional rooms available from R1100 p.n.). Or rent the whole house for R12700 p.n. (10 double rooms; 20 people). Prices are for stays of more than one night. If you’re only staying for one night, it costs 25% more.

8 Buck’s Camping Lodge

In Henties, 10 minutes from the sea. The campsite has 45 stands and it’s a great place to pitch a tent. Each stand has electricity and a private bathroom. There’s a wall to protect you from the wind. SPITZKOPPE

11 Spitzkoppe Rest Camp

One of Namibia’s best! The campsite has 31 stands among the boulders, set far apart from each other. Each stand has its own long drop toilet. There are communal showers with hot water and flush toilets at the reception office. There’s also a bar and a restaurant. Braai packs are available. Camping R190 p.p. Day visitors R80 p.p; R80 per vehicle. A guided outing to rock art sites in Bushman’s Paradise is included in the price and takes about two hours.

12 Spitzkoppe Tented Camp
