Although make a formidable impression with their new album Shine, it’s easy to get distracted by the fact that they don’t fall prey to any one style in particular. It’s tempting to try and peg the duo simply as Americana, roots, gospel or soul, when in fact they mine a hybrid drawn from all the above.
