    hat was typical Dani. He pops up some days and does phenomenal rides. We didn’t really expect it from him that day because he’d been a little bit down after his crash. That day, on the first climb coming out of Clermont Ferrand I saw Dani pop out of the bunch at the speed of a motorbike, going past big groups. Then he and Hugh Carthy got into the move and we had the guys we knew could win the stage.
