n the mid-October sun, Adrien Petit of Team Direct Energie works hard in a vain attempt says: “I think my favourite shot of this year was a shot that I’ve wanted to shoot for a long, long time. I don’t know if it’s my best one, but it’s one I’ve always hoped I might get to take at some point: it’s the lone rider, stuck between breakaway and peloton, trying to bridge across - against the backdrop of a huge sky. I love how hard Adrien Petit is going in this image - how clear it is - despite the fact that I can’t see anything because he’s silhouetted against a beautiful late afternoon sky, between sun and storm, at the 2020 Ronde van Vlaanderen.”
