About this audiobook
Stephen King delivers a haunting, heartfelt performance as he shares a story about the bonds between husbands, wives and pets.
LT has a theory about pets, particularly his Siamese cat. It had been their cat not just his cat, but that was until he came home one day to a note on the fridge. His wife had left him.
The cat stayed behind...
Recorded live at London's Royal Festival Hall, LT's Theory of Pets demonstrates yet again that Stephen King is a master storyteller.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Loved that this book was read by Stephen King. The more I hear him speak the louder his voice sounds in my head when I read his work. LT's Theory of Pets was ok. it was quick listen while I got some chores done. This was not one of King's fearful works, though. Just a fun tale.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I was close to the end of the audiobook and it kept jumping to the end. I did not get to listen to the last 20 minutes of the book and do not know how the story ended. This is a problem with the audiobook not with the story. The story was great except right when it was getting good the audio would quit playing and would say the book was over.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Stephen King nailed a great mixture of humor, horror, and life lessons all in one. Skip the marriage counselor and read this book. It’ll work a lot faster! ;)
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Funnier than expected-especially for King. Real treat to hear him read his own work, Maine accent and all.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Great to hear this being read by the King himself!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5That was good and funny. A pleasant hour with Stephen King!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Mildly entertaining, but not one of his best. The ending was abrupt.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I agree with the reviews that praise the storytelling and humor and skill of delivery, however, I did not particularly like the end of the story or offensive language. Cat's name was wonderful.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This was much funnier than most King stories! I actually chuckled aloud several times as I listened! Lots of bad language, but totally within the character of LT, and again, often pretty dang funny! It's all about marriage, and pets, and, well, storytelling itself. LT's actual theory isn't very good, but the story, until the end, is! The end left me completely unsatisfied, which is why I only gave it 3 stars. But it is well worth the listen, and it's pretty cool to hear it in its author's own voice!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a really fun audio book to listen to. Stephen King does a good job with the reading, he has a real sense of comic timing, and his characterization of LT is great. As expected, even Stephen King's comedic writing ends up having its dark side.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really liked listening to this audio book. This was read by Stephen King himself and has a much lighter, more humorous quality to it. (But then those of us who know Stephen King realize something must go horrifically wrong before the end!) It is not a full novel, in fact barely a short story, but still quite entertaining.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Read by the author this one shows the humorous side of Stephen King.
