      12 finally is a great book (obviously) if you are about to turn 12 (me)! I love the personality of Rory. Rory is turning twelve and she makes a list. This list is when she turns twelve she gets some privliges like getting a phone, going to a girl/boy party, getting her ears peirced, getting to wear make-up, getting contacts, and so on. Rory thinks her life will be complete with all these things, but some things turn out as disaters. Her bunny ends up being a killer bunny, when she shaves sh cuts up her leg, when shes trying to get her contacts in she scratches her eye and has to wear an eyepatch, and loses her phone with in 15 minutes. A famous movie star is making a movie at their school and she is an extra. Everyday there is something else wrong with her so her best friend and the lead in the movie Jake, get a kick out of it. She realizes that people know that she can see them so thats whats special about Rory.

      OMG this is a killer awesome book!! At first you’re kind of like “Oh great this is just another middle school kids book with friends being mean to each other and making new friends kind of thing.” But then about halfway through the start to realize that it actually has a deeper meaning to it. Kids usually want to grow up quickly and do all the things their friends are doing to look “cool” and gain popularity in the social hierarchy, due to peer pressure. But actually what’s REALLY cool is to be your OWN person, and honor that. I think everyone on planet earth should a book that conveys that message, and this, is one of them. ??

      I enjoyed listening to this book because it felt like I was on the story. The one thing I wish was different was that at some point in the story it got confusing, but I eventually caught up.

      This is one of my favorite books right now! It’s about a girl who has a list of things to do when she turns 12! Like getting a pet, a phone and shaving her legs. I think it’s a great book/ audiobook to read/listen to! I loved it and would recommend this for kids 8-13! Five stars!

      I loved 11 birthdays and The Candymakers, so I was so excited to read this. I couldn't get through the second chater. Rory is such a brat. She comes off as spoiled and I hate her from the first sentence. I got to the part where she was going through her room and putting everything that was 'babyish' in a box in her closet. What's more, I've read this book before (Forced myself to read might be putting it better) And I know that all of the things she's so excited for that will happen when she turns 12 turn out horrible. I want to read a book where I want to put myself in the protagonist's shoes, but I just want to get as far away from this book and it's bratty main character and terrible parents as possible. I'm recommend skipping over to the rest of the series.

      Not as good as 11 Birthdays. Story does not continue although teens in first book appear in the sequel. I liked the magical quality from the first book (repeating day). Still I would happily recommend to 4-6 graders.

      I was disappointed to find this sequel doesn't follow the same characters, and the pet advice given was criminally bad, but the lessons learned were good (though they'll likely fly over the heads of most younger readers).

      Rory Swenson has been keeping a list of things she'll be allowed to do once she turns twelve, and although she's sure her parents have forgotten a lot of the things they've promised over the years, she has the documentation to prove that they agreed to a variety of things.Rory is a wonderful character and her big dreams may seem small to some, but when you’ve been waiting FOREVER for a cell phone, a pet, and to be left alone in the house (just to name a few of her wishes), they seem like the key to happiness. Rory plunges into achieving those dreams with reckless abandon that leaves her a bit batter, bruised, and hopped up on caffeine—all while being paid to be an extra in the teen movie being filmed at her school. Along the way, Rory helps others achieve their dreams too, and she does it with such subtlety that there’s a great lesson for readers within the pages of the book without feeling hit over the head with it.Rory’s parents offer a fine balance between strict and understanding, and her three-year-old brother, Sawyer, offers some excellent comic moments through the course of the book.Mass’s book reminds me a bit of Judy Blume’s offerings for this age group. Unfortunately there are hints of magical realism that fall flat—especially at the end—and that lowered the number of stars I give it to four.Read this book to hang out with Rory and her friends. She’s an incredibly likable pre-teen and she handles the many misadventures that come with turning twelve like someone much older—but not in an unrealistic way. The book is completely suitable for its target age range and a refreshingly light read while remaining interesting.My thanks to the publisher for a copy of the book in exchange for my unbiased review.

      A story about Rory, a girl who has been waiting all her life to turn 12 so that she can do all of the things that her parents said she couldn't do until she was 12. Rory finds out, however, that fulfilling her list of wishes may end up being disappointing. A fun story that incorporates some characters from 11 birthdays.

      Rory Swenson has been waiting her whole life for the moment she turns twelve. To her turning twelve means having all her wishes come true in which she grows out of her old childhood life and into the beginning of her new life as a preteen. When receiving the items on her wish list, all goes wrong for Rory as she learns the amount of responsibility needed to fulfil her birthday requirements.“Finally” by Wendy Mass tells a story of a young girl getting everything she’s always wanted ,but not as she imagined. Like any other Wendy Mass book, “Finally” showed the realistic struggles any ordinary teen would face. It was so relatable to any reader between the ages of 12 and 14. I loved this book because of how relatable the character’s conflicts were! Congratulations to Wendy Mass for publishing another great book!

      This book is about a girl is eleven. She is really excited about being tweleve. She is a big wisher and she wants everything. Everyone has a cellphone so she wants one. She wants her brithday to be great and cool. She has troubles being twelve because she has a crush and a lot of things. She is finally twelve. I like this book because it feels your like eleven again and you wanna be twelve again.

       The book "Finally" by Wendy Mass is and interesting book about a young girl growing up. The main character in this books name is Rory. . I would certainly read it again. Before Rory turns twelve she has been writing a list of stuff she is allowed to do when she turns twelve.From staying home alone to babysitting to getting a cell phone. She is excited to do all this stuff but she realizes growing up is hard. Everything on her list that she wants to do goes wrong.This book was a big surprise to me. I never expected for all these things to go wrong. It seemed like it never stopped. It went problem after problem after problem. Everything she wanted to do to be like her friends went wrong. She was allergic to most of the things. This book was great. I would certainly read this book again. It was full of surprises that never stopped.

      Rory Is an 11 year old girl who is turning 12 soon, so she has made a list of stuff she is allow to do when the time comes. There’s the little but important things like using the kitchen appliances without any supervision or staying home alone and there’s the big stuff to do like getting her ears pierced and getting a cell phone. Rory is excited to do everything on her list because finally she will be like her friends. Rory will soon realize all her wishes won’t come true.This book was a surprise! I though I wasn't going to like “Finally” because is for preteens but it was really funny and fast read. I loved Rory and how she handles every situation in the book. What I found more enjoyable in the book was Rory's relationship with her parents. Here is one of my favorite conversations in the book:Dad scurries along, eyes down, with his hands held up to the right side of his face like he’s shielding it from the sun. “Dad, seriously,” I plead. “People are going to think you stole something”“I’ll take my chances,” he says without looking up.“You know, just because you see something in a store window doesn’t mean you have to buy it”“These places are tricky”

      Dina,9A.RPointsRory Swenson just can't catch a break. She's been waiting for what seems like forever for her 12th birthday. According to her parents' rules, that is the magical age when she'll finally be able to partake in many formerly forbidden activities such as wearing contact lenses, getting a pet, owning a cell phone, piercing her ears, and staying home alone. Now that the day has finally come, she finds that growing up isn't as satisfying as she imagined. She's completely unprepared for the minor disasters that result. The only silver lining is her growing friendship with movie-star Jake Harrison, who is filming at her school. There's a nice twist at the end, when the many good deeds Rory has done without thinking of herself pay off, and she realizes that her misfortunes are minor.

      This is a cute, fun light read told by Rory Swenson, an eleven year old who has waited forever to turn twelve because her parents keep telling her she can do certain things once she's twelve. As a result, Rory has kept notes, and created a list, of all the things she's been promised once she turns 12. Her list includes getting a cell phone, going to a boy girl party, walking home alone and many, many other things that her over protective parents have forbidden her to do or have until she is twelve. The voice of Rory is authentic without being whiney, fresh and fun. One warning: I DO really like this author so even if there was something the matter with the book, I might not have noticed it since I love her writing! :-)Definitely a book more suited to girls.
