About this audiobook
#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
No one knows you like your sister. She can make you laugh or break your heart with a single word. And no one writes novels like Kristin Hannah, an author who vividly explores the intricate bonds of family and, as Tami Hoag said “touches the deepest, most tender corners of our heart.” Now, in her rich, captivating new book, she creates an indelible portrait of two women, once lost to each other, about to come together in a time of exquisite joy and almost unbearable sadness. Sisters by blood, strangers by choice, each stands at a crossroads, ready to confront the betrayals of the past. . . .
BETWEEN SISTERS
Meghann Dontess is a woman haunted by heartbreak. Twenty-five years ago she was forced to make a terrible choice, one that cost her everything, including the love of her sister, Claire. Now, Meghann is a hotshot divorce attorney who doesn’t believe in intimacy–until she meets the one man who can change her mind.
Claire Cavenaugh has fallen in love for the first time in her life. As her wedding day approaches, she prepares to face her harsh, judgmental older sister and their self-absorbed mother. It is the first time they have been together in more than two decades. Over the course of a hot Pacific Northwest summer, these three women who believe they have nothing in common will try to become what they never were: a family.
Tender, funny, bittersweet, and wonderfully moving, Between Sisters celebrates the joys and heartaches that can only be shared by sisters, the mistakes made in the name of love and the healing power of new beginnings–all beautifully told by acclaimed author Kristin Hannah.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A great tale and thoroughly enjoyed. Several times, I even laughed out loud. The core story may be a wee bit of a Lifetime movie, but overall, this is such a great story, any “cheesiness” didn’t matter at all. The narrator also did a fab job.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a beautiful story. I laughed, cried and have been left feeling very grateful for my own life story.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I love Kristin Hannah’s writing but this was definitely not one of my favourites from her. It’s an ok story, but I felt it dragged immensely in the first half, and lacked the emotional depth of her other work. Good for a light holiday listen.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5After a bad childhood with a neglectful mother, two sisters have a distant and complicated relationship at best. As a divorce lawyer, Meghann finds herself running to save her sister from marrying a man that she met at a bar a couple of weeks ago. He is also a felon and has been married 3 times before. At the very least she needs to get her to sign a prenup. Things dont go according to plan for either of them and they must figure out how to let go of the guilt, shame and blame they are carrying over from the past..
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book would have been a five star if the explicit sex descriptions had been left out and God would have been acknowledged as the giver of life, not as a bargaining entity.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Between Sisters by Kristin HannahLove this author's works and although longer than others they contain so much. This story starts out with acknowledges then the story begins.Family camp that the dad still runs with help from his daughter, Claire.Story follows Joe is a worker that picks fruit at the vineyards along with immigrants where he becomes gets hot and wants to move on, nightmares still scare him. He was once married to Diane and he just wants to move on, low profile.Love the location of WA, so many of the destinations mentioned we have visited.Like hearing of the other locations, new places to me, so well described.Claire and her daughter Allison are working at the camp and she plans to go with high school friends for their annual vacation. She only sees herself as a failure when she talks to her sister. Her sister from a different father, Meg is very accomplished lawyer and can't be bothered with the camp. She has many sexual partners to fill the void along with a lot of pills from her doctor to help get through the night.Chapters go back in time to events that occurred so you can understand why things are done they way they are 10 years later. After Claire gets married it's determined she has a brain tumor and she wants to keep it away from her spouse who's off recording songs in TN.Meg is there for her whenever she needs her, researching the cures. Joe has some knowledge but it's in his past and it could be he can't go there....I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I should know better than to read a Kristin Hannah book at work. I was a crying mess as I was sitting in the office at lunch! Another amazing read from this author. This did have a slower start for me than her other books, but once it picked up it never let go. Expect an emotional rode with this one and get the tissues ready.
