About this audiobook

Jake is a New York City fireman and devoted family man. Eric is climbing the corporate ladder at the expense of his wife and children. On a fateful Tuesday in September, two strangers meet for a startling moment in a smoke-filled stairway. Only one will leave the Twin Towers alive. Will he find his way home?

The last thing Jake Bryan knew was the roar of the World Trade Center collapsing on top of him and his fellow firefighters. The man in the hospital bed remembers nothing. Not rushing with his teammates up the stairway of the south tower to help trapped victims. Not being blasted from the building. And not the woman sitting by his bedside who says she is his wife.

Jamie Bryan will do anything to help her beloved husband regain his memory, and with it their storybook family life with their small daughter, Sierra. But that means helping Jake rediscover the one thing Jamie has never shared with him: his deep faith in God. Jake’s fondest prayer for his wife is about to have an impact beyond anything he could possibly have conceived.

One Tuesday Morning is a love story like none you have ever read: tender, moving, commemorating the tragedy and heroism of September 11 and portraying the far-reaching power of God’s faithfulness and a good man’s love.

I went into this book absolutely blind; I had never heard of the author & did not read the book description. I am a retired Paramedic from NC and would have been working the morning of 09/11/01, but was instead in pre-op for hernia repair from where else but EMS! I saw this book as a suggestion and given my interest in the subject, decided to read it. Let me say that I am also a Christian- given that, the surprise I got from listening to this audiobook hit on two fronts for me. I am sure for folks in NY it could be more. So we'll written, it kept me in suspense until the end with two possible outcomes and even a stirring of the spirit on numerous occasions. If you want a good story of 9/11, told from a completely different aspect of two involved families, search no further. I finished it in only two days.

I loved this one, but the first one annoyed me. I read it right after I got married and I know my husband has a scar on his elbow and a mole on the bottom of his foot and the back of his ear and how, unless his entire body was burned, could you not tell if someone was your husband? It just seemed like too far of a stretch for me.I could accept the voice being different due to smoke inhalation, but he did not have burns covering all his skin. Although, I just realized, maybe she didn't look at him, since they were not initmate, but still . . .

So I just finished reading Beyond Tuesday Morning by Karen Kingsbury. In an effort of full disclosure this was my first foray into Christian fiction and the first Karen Kingsbury novel I have ever read. This is the sequel to another book Kingsbury wrote about September 11 and supposedly it finishes the story. Having not read the first book, it was still really easy to fall into this novel and I didn't feel like I missed anything starting with #2. In this book Jamie is still dealing with the death of her husband by volunteering at a church across the street from Ground Zero. She is struggling to determine how and when to move on when two men come into her life, Captain Hesil, and Clay. The story surrounds how God leads her to new beginings. Most parts of this book I really liked, and as a practicing Christian the constant references to God were exactly what I expected in Christian fiction. Some parts of the novel seemed a little "too perfect". But perhaps that is what some people look for in a novel. That love at first sight and tingling feeling when the two lovers meet for the first time. God also answered all the prayers in this book and spoke directly to every character when they called to him. I can see how in Christian fiction that can inspire hope, but I don't think believers can always expect God to act that way.Overall, I liked the plot and love story. I thought that perhaps Kingsbury presented a slightly unrealistic view of God, however it was a very hopeful view and therefore worth preserving, as long as readers don't expect their relationships with God to be that perfect.

Once again, a amazing story. I only wish the end would have been that they found out that the guys were twins. Neat ending that way. This was ok, but I keep thinking it would end differently. Bit of a let-down.

I really liked this book. It was an emotional roll coaster. I felt for each of the people in this story. I liked that 9/11 was not the forefront of the story, but it was about the love of God and these two couples. I felt that there was more to the story at the end. It was nice to know that there are 2 more books after. I want to know how Eric and his wife heal. I want more about Clay. I want more about Jaime!!!!!

The book captured my attention in the beginning, but the middle slowed down. Had to finally push myself to finish it.....and oh my!! I have never read a book that had me crying for the final 30 pages! Extremely emotional! Heavy on the religion.....but what a story!

This story about two men caught in the maelstrom of the South Tower in the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001 gives pause for thought about what is really important in life, and how even terrible events can be used by God to work positive outcomes in individual lives.

I hear that everyone has a twin running around on this Earth. This is a story based on 9/11/2001. The second airplane has just crashed into the second Twin Tower. People are rushing to get down the stairs since the elevators are broken. During one point in time, while on firefighter was going up, another is coming down the stairs. They glance at each other only to see how much they look alike. A few hours later, the same person is found a truck a few miles from the Towers. The chief of firefighters recognizes him as one of his own. They rush him to a nearby hospital where they bandage his burns and put a cast on his broken ankle. They ask him alot of personal questions which he is unable to answer. Their diagnosis is that he has amnesia. He can only remember one name and that is of his daughter. His wife is called and she comes within hours. She is so relieved that her husband has been found and is alive even though it is going to be months for him to recover. She is told of his amnesia and is rather concerned that he remembers his daughter but not her. Finally, the day has come when he is able to come home. His wife happens to glance at his medical chart at the end of his bed. His blood type entry is different than in the years past. She discusses this issue with the floornurse and is assured that if his was any different, he wouldn't have been able to have the blood transfusions needed to save his life.Their pre-school daughter is overjoyed to see her daddy come him and they can be a family again. Her mother tells her that her daddy is tired from being in the hospital so she might need to remind daddy of their activities. She is glad to do this and they make sure that she knows nothing of his amnesia.Their family life has been made whole once again until the day starts when the man starts to have flashbacks. Over time, the firefighter's wife and the man, that she thinks is her husband, explore who he really is. He remembers that he has a wife and a son who are waiting at home for himKingsbury writing makes you feel as if you know her characters. I really felt for the wife since she thinks that her husband did not die in the blazing fires only to find out that he had died heroically.

This book had me hooked form the first paragraph. The story of loss, redemption and love set around 9/11. At times it was heart renching but so well crafted. The characters and situations were believable that I felt I knew them. Must be read with a box of tissues!!

What a powerful book! I truly enjoyed this version of what might have happened to a firefighter doing his job in the world's most horrendous disaster!
