Beschreibung

Sometimes hope for the future is found in the ashes of yesterday.

Shane Galanter---a man ready to put down roots after years of searching. But is he making the right choice? Or is there a woman somewhere who even now remembers---as does he---those long-ago days . . . and a love that hasn't faded with time?

Lauren Gibbs---a successful international war correspondent who gave up on happily-ever-after years ago---when it was ripped away from her. Since then, she's never looked back. So how come she can't put to rest the one question that haunts her: Why is life so empty?

Emily Anderson---a college freshman raised by her grandparents, and about to take her first internship as a journalist. But before she can move ahead, she discovers a love story whose tragic ending came with her birth. As a result, she is drawn to look back and search out the mother she's never met.

A young woman seeking answers to her heart's deep questions. A man and woman separated by lies and long years. . . yet who have never forgotten each other. With hallmark tenderness and power, Karen Kingsbury weaves a tapestry of lives, losses, love, and faith---and the miracle of resurrection.

Chapter 22 would not play. And it never remembered where I left off. Aside from that, very cute book. I would change it to "Young Adult" category.

A Warm and tender story. I'm new to Karen Kingsbury and a friend gave this book to read. She thought that it was a wonderful story. Well, I have to agree with her, the book was terrific. Once I started reading the book I had a hard time putting it down. The author's style of writing is warm and heartfelt and I can hardly wait to read another book by this author.

Kingsbury caught my attention with the first sentence of this book and held it until the end. It is a powerful book about young love and parents love for their children. I found myself rooting for Shane and Lauren, hoping they could overcome their parents’ objections and remain together.

This is a great book on matters of love and faith. I have a strong faith in God, and while reading this, I felt very refreshed reading about how the couple put God into the picture along with their intense love for each other. It was extremely touching.

Book 1 of 2 in the series. Kingsbury provides a Christian and realistic view of two teenagers who fall in love, make a mistake and become pregnant. The story takes place twenty years later when their daughter, who lives with her grandparents, go looking for her real parents. Through different circumstances the parents do not know that she is alive. They have gone on to live different lives that contradict each other and did not keep in contact with each other. Emily (the daughter) finds both parents, but this book does not let you know what happens with the family or with Emily. Ever After is the sequel to the book.
