About this audiobook

Gideon calls me his angel, but he’s the miracle in my life. My gorgeous, wounded warrior, so determined to slay my demons while refusing to face his own.

The vows we’d exchanged should have bound us tighter than blood and flesh. Instead they opened old wounds, exposed pain and insecurities, and lured bitter enemies out of the shadows. I felt him slipping from my grasp, my greatest fears becoming my reality, my love tested in ways I wasn’t sure I was strong enough to bear.

At the brightest time in our lives, the darkness of his past encroached and threatened everything we’d worked so hard for. We faced a terrible choice: the familiar safety of the lives we’d had before each other or the fight for a future that suddenly seemed an impossible and hopeless dream.…

This book should be called the hypocrisy of Eva! It’s let me cry about something then turn around do the exact same thing. We’re 4 books in and she’s grown like 1cm… our MMC is going above and beyond to keep her happy yet it’s never enough. She treats his trauma like she’s a therapist and KNOWS what he needs constantly comparing herself to him as if she’s the blueprint for recovery. She’s about as overdramatic as a toddler. I can’t take it anymore. I won’t even bother with the next book at this point I truly do not care about them. The only reason I made it through this book was because it was finally dual POV. I thought maybe less Ava would bring the feels back from book 1 but unfortunately it didn’t and Ava is just too childish.

Having the added bonus of Gideon’s POV was super thrilling. I love these characters, I love story writing, I JUST LOVE THE CROSSFIRE SERIES! Thank you Sylvia Day for sharing Gideon and Eva’s intense and dynamic love story with us all.

I thought with the ending of the last book this would be boring, but I actually enjoyed it! It’s great to see some growth though it is slow. Again, I felt that the book ended not with a bang but just meh. I don’t want to say it’s a cliff hanger just that the ending of all the books I’ve read so far they just kind of… end. I LOVE that we have Gideon’s perspective though in this one and the readers did an amazing job like before.
