Beschreibung

Barliona: a virtual world jam-packed with monsters, battles-and, predictably, players. Millions of them come to Barliona, looking forward to the things they can't get in real life: elves and magic, dragons and princesses, and unforgettable combat. The game has become so popular that players now choose to spend months online without returning home. In Barliona, anything goes: You can assault fellow players, level up, become a mythical hero, a wizard, or a legendary thief. The only rule that attempted to regulate the game demanded that no player be allowed to feel actual pain.

But there's an exception to every rule. For a certain bunch of players, Barliona has become their personal hell. They are criminals sent to Barliona to serve their time. They aren't in it for the dragons' gold or the abundant loot. All they want is to survive the virtual inferno. They face the ultimate survival quest.

I started this series because I it's description. I just finished book 2 and now I'm glad I didn't give up after book 1. "Survival Quest" is decent. I wish it had more fighting, monsters and battling bosses etc... "Survival Quest" is used to setup action/adventure for the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed this Book, because i also play a shaman class in videogames when available. The end of the book REALLY oozes the shaman class fantasy, and I loved every second of it.

The book isn’t bad. I found great joy in this story as a whole. Do you know what this book and being lost in the forest have in common? It’s in the details. This book has plenty details. I have read everything in this series so far and the rest all benefit from the groundwork here. The following stories are more engaging and creative. Reading the last few chapters of this then starting the others would be more effective than trudging through all the setting up going on here. If you prefer to be enveloped in the story fully then go and dive in from the start here.

My 1st LitRPG book, and really enjoyed it. I've been playing rpgs for years and if your a fan of the game genre I think you'll enjoy the book.

DNFed after 45 %.This was my first LitRPG novel, and since it seems relatively well regarded, I will probably not return to this genre. You must really like RPGs, and more – you must like somebody else telling you in great detail about their game, to enjoy this book. You get all the stats all the time, there is no drink of water that will leave you in suspense about how many points exactly the main character just gained. What you don't get is world-builidng, non-statistical characters, or an interesting story. The writing is serviceable but far from great. The second star is purely for the narration by Jonathan Yen, which was quite good and can make you think you were listening to a better book.
