I've been reading through this McKettrick series for a couple of months now and recently got rather tired of it. However, this volume invigorated my interest. I read it in the space of a couple of days!Cheyenne Bridges returns to her home town of Indian Rock, AZ because she was ordered by her boss to convince Jesse McKettrick to sell their real estate development company 500 acres of his land for condos. Cheyenne and Jesse, although from the same town, grew up in two different worlds. The McKettrick's have always been local royalty, and Cheyenne grew up in a trailer park with a drunk gambler for a father (and a big, big crush on Jesse). The two have a lot to work out, what with the land issue between them, and the fact that Jesse, a quintessential trust-fund baby, mostly plays poker for a living. Their romance develops in a realistic way, despite of all that threatens to keep them apart. I genuinely liked both characters, and am looking forward to reading about Keegan and Rance, Jesse's cousins and the subjects of the next two books in this series. From their appearances in this book, it sounds like those two will not disappoint!

One of those catchy romances that you pick up for fun and can't put down. Author has written about the fictional McKettrick family going back to Old West days and picks up now with their wealthy and gorgeous descendants. The plots are largely the same in the series--man falls for mysterious woman, they click sexually but have other issues to work out. Very romantic, often times cliched (especially if read one after another), but satisfying overall.McKettrick's Luck focuses on the ladies man of the bunch, Jesse. Jesse falls hard for a woman back in town after a long absence. Cheyenne, who grew up poor alongside the wealthy McKettricks, is dealing with the legacy of her loser father, a wheelchair-bound brother, and a seemingly untenable work situation that requires Jesse's unlikely cooperation.
