- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5The books makes valid points but it does not address the actual root of the problem, that is the beliefs people hold around food, feelings of shame and dieting mentality. All in all, it's a decent read if you want to deep your toes in these waters (or research for some project) and it's pretty relatable. I was at the beginning of my recovery when I found this book and I was extremely happy about it, it seemed like the ultimate truth, however 1 year later I discovered it was not. Following the rules and banning sugar from your life is not sustainable and quite dangerous. I DO NOT recommend anyone to apply what they read in this book on themselves. Use it for research or anything else just DON'T use those techniques on anyone because this will aggravate their eating issues.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Life changing! Information is great, narrated beautifully, I plan to listen/read again soon
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This really was an enlightening book. I highly recommend this one
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is what I would call the end of the line method of food recovery. I highly recommend for people who have tried everything else to no avail. Those of you who still think you can find a way to eat flour and sugar successfully probably need to try something else like intuitive eating. Who knows? Maybe you aren't an addict and you can.
It's still a seed of thought that needs to be planted regardless. If you wonder if you are a food addict, you need to at least listen to this audio book.
Whether or not you actually try abstinence is something to consider carefully. Once you cage this lion, you need to keep it there. When we relapse it does get progressively harder to quit each time, because the disease continues to progress. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very insightful and deep, honest text about food addiction. Gave me a lot of strength and encouragement to stay on this newly discovered path of recovering from my own (food) addiction. Grateful for this book!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Was hoping for more instruction on how to stop eating sugar. It mostly just told you to find a 12 step program.
