About this audiobook

Life for Lady Adelaide Bell was easier if she hid in her older sister's shadow-which worked until her sister got married. Even with the pressure of her socially ambitious mother, the last thing she expected was a marriage of convenience to save her previously spotless reputation.

Lord Trent Hawthorne couldn't be happier that he is not the duke in the family. He's free to manage his small estate and take his time discovering the life he wants to lead, which includes grand plans of wooing and falling in love with the woman of his choice. When he finds himself honor bound to marry a woman he doesn't know, his dream of a marriage like his parents' seems lost forever.

Already starting their marriage on shaky ground, can Adelaide and Trent's relationship survive the pressures of London society?

Better narrator. It was poorly read and so a not so great set of ridiculous characters in a good storyline turned into sheer cringe worthy monotonous prose from the poor skill of the narrator. Ive read and listened the authors other books. I gave them 4 to 5 stars. This one was so awful, that i could not finish it!

The story had a slow beginning, but very enjoyable. I could literally feel the awkwardness in their marriage courting. By the end I was totally invested in their story and wanted some pineapple.

Good book and fun read, but a rather poor narrator.

“An Uncommon Courtship”, from author Kristi Ann Hunter, is a treat for lovers of Regency Romance. Book Three in the “Hawthorne House” series tells of an unconventional relationship where the courtship comes after the marriage. Lord Trent Hawthorne is the younger son, happy to be free of the obligations inherited by his older brother, Griffith. His plans for the future include marrying a wife of his own choosing and enjoying a life of his own making. He did not envision a turn of fate that would have him proposing to a virtual stranger after an unfortunate incident lead to a night spent together under circumstances which would be deemed compromising by the merciless tongues of society. Lady Adelaide Bell was happy to dwell in her older sister’s shadow if it meant dodging the glare of her mother’s disappointment in her second daughter. A forced marriage to escape societal censure is the last thing she expected. Trent and Adelaide must grow as individuals before they grow into a loving couple, and a strong measure of faith, along with respect and appreciation, could just lead to a lifetime of joy and fulfillment.Book Copy Gratis Bethany House Books

Not the most original story line but sweet, clean, and enjoyable romance.

I enjoyed this marriage or ruination story. I also enjoyed catching up with characters from the previous stories in this series. This book is the third, but can be read as a stand alone.Trent makes the decision to marry Adelaide when they spend the evening together after an accident. He is a man of honor and abandons his plans to marry for love. This romance has some humorous moments. Trent decides to court his wife. Their marriage at the beginning is shaky. They do not know how to communicate with the stranger they are currently living with. This book had moments when I wanted to hit them with my tablet. Trent knows how to completely bungle things. He overthinks and overreacts. Adelaide has spent her life living in the shadows of her older sister and is wonderful at retreating into her books. The book shows the progression of their relationship. The extended family added many wonderful moments. I loved it when the family ganged up on Trent, he deserved it.This book has a strong Christian element. It is clean with kissing and fade to black intimacy.Source: Netgalley

Kristi Ann Hunter is a must read for me. After reading the two previous Hawthorne books, I was anxious to see Trent's story. I love the way she revisits some of the former characters. As always there were sweet and hilarious parts to the story, as well as a couple of sad moments. Although there was a few negative comments, I believe this is still a very clean sweet love story.

What a surprise wedding night Lady Adelaide is about to experience, yes she married under different circumstances, but no bride expects to be abandoned, her new husband is in the house, but no where near her.Trent Hawthorne is the second son of a duke, so he does not inherit the title, and he sure could care less about it, he does what is right according to society, and thus he and Adelaide are married. He wants what the rest of his family has, and that is a love match, and now that has really been stolen from him.We are about to watch how these two go about society in old England, and I was ready to smack her Mother, and maybe her sister too.Be ready for some really good chuckles and bantering, I enjoyed how these two try to make their way toward each other. A sweet read.I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Bethany House, and was not required to give a positive review.
