About this audiobook
An RNA Romantic Novel of the Year Award nominee and an Amazon Charts bestseller.
London, 1944. Two young nurses meet at a train station with a common purpose: to join the war effort. Scarlet longs for the chance to find her missing fiancé, Thomas, and to prove to her family—and to herself—that she’s stronger than everybody thinks. Nursing is in Ellie’s blood, but her humble background is vastly different from Scarlet’s privileged upbringing. Though Ellie puts on a brave face, she’s just as nervous as Scarlet about what awaits them in France.
In Normandy, the two friends soon encounter the seemingly unflappable Lucy. Scarlet and Ellie are in awe of her courage and competence, but the experienced nurse is well aware of the dangers of the job they’ve chosen—and even she is terrified they won’t make it home alive.
Pushed to their limits by the brutality of a world at war, Scarlet, Ellie and Lucy will need to rely on each other—and the power of their friendship—to survive.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book was different than what I expected. While the plot line & characters were written in a way to make me want to continue reading to find out the ending for these women, the plot line was also very predictable & cheesy. It's a nice fun romantic cheese novel (and I very much appreciate that sexual scenes weren't 50 Shades level) with a war background. I don't regret reading it, but it didn't completely blow me away either.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a pleasant book. A feel good story where everything works out in the end.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A good listen of brave strong women! Enjoyed it immensely
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Easy listen. A reminder of the need for good friends, especially amongst women.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I enjoyed very much. It take a couple chapters, but after I could have listened without stopping. The only problem was more with the app playing the recording. The person reading would say a different chapter than the app playing it said. It was like 30 chapters off. I would just go by the app.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Just couldn’t stop listening, needed to know what happened! Amazing book
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5War brides grabbed my attention at the start. The three strong minded and full of personality nurses are easy to fall in love with. While I love a good romance my favorite part was that the story line was strong even for non romance lovers.
