About this audiobook
Hollywood is full of dirty secrets, but Carter refuses to be Levi’s.
Retired action star Levi Pritchard has made a quiet life for himself in the sleepy logging town of Bluewater Bay, Washington. But then Hollywood comes to film the wildly popular television series Wolf’s Landing, and Bluewater Bay isn’t so sleepy anymore. His retirement doesn’t stick, either, because he’s offered a part on the show—exactly the kind of complex role he’d always wanted, one that would prove him more than a glorified stuntman. The only catch? He has to stay in the closet—no matter how attractive he finds his co-star.
Carter Samuels is the critically-acclaimed male lead on Wolf’s Landing. And now, the man who inspired him to take up acting—and made him realize he’s gay—is joining the cast, and sparks fly between them instantly. But Carter is out and proud and determined to stay true to himself.
Remaining just friends is the only thing to do, as both the studio and Levi’s disapproving, dysfunctional family keep reminding them. Except their friendship deepens by the day, tempting them with what they can’t have but both desperately need.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I found this to be an interesting gay romance short novel which highlights a bit of a generational and/or situational divide in the LGBT experience. I am of an age where it was not professionally safe for many of my friends to come out. (I was lucky enough to be in one of the most accepting professional environments.) It was nice to see a plot involving both those who still face major professional and personal difficulties because of their orientation and the increasingly common acceptance from colleagues and family (especially compared to when I was younger). For a brief story, this was a decent little exploration (albeit necessarily oversimplified) of some of the issues I saw many of my friends face. It was also gratifying to see that contrasted with a younger, "at ease with being out" celebrity, as he got a glimpse of the issues formerly omnipresent in society (losing one's entire career and/or family by coming out), and still faced by entirely too many (probably including limiting roles available in Hollywood).
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I don't have a ton of patience to listen to a grown man blatantly deny his sexuality to please his alcoholic bigot parents, and in the middle one of the guys had a thing with someone else which sucked. Otherwise it's a good story, especially if you like movies/film, but don't expect to get sucked into the romance.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book is a special treat for fans of old movies and film noir.I'm no fan of these movies (there are some I like), but I didn't need any knowledge about them to follow Levi and Carter's dialogs. And there are a lot of them about movies. Not that surprising considering they are both actors.Surprising was how easy everything in their relationship was. Too easy and a little bit boring. Don't get me wrong, they fit together and it was not bad, just... you know. Could have been more drama. There is some, but it was rather shallow and didn't get that much attention. More attention lies on their friendship, which I enjoyed very much.I enjoyed Levi's cats even more (I'm a sucker for pets). After reading this novel I'm really interested in tv series Wolf's Landing. Too bad it's not real.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Let's discuss how I adore the Bluewater Bay series. It's m/m romance set in a small Pacific Northwest town where a genre TV show based on a book series films. The characters are a great mix of cast, crew, and townie (including a few loggers). This is a town I'd like to visit, and it's definitely a TV show I'd watch and series I would read. The books are on the whole funny and sweet, with realistic problems and solutions.
In Starstruck (Bluewater Bay #1) action-hero Levi Pritchard has retired to Bluewater Bay leaving Hollywood behind only to find himself right back in the spotlight when Wolf's Landing comes to town to film, bringing with it an offer for a role on the show and Carter Samuels, the show's lead actor, who wants Levi on the show and in his bed. Levi keeps his sexuality to himself, Carter is proudly out, and they're not sure if they can ever be together.
This was adorable. Especially the parts dealing with the show and its fandom, and the crew member who happily leaks rumors to Twitter. If you've ever watched a show with two male leads and suddenly shipped them, this book is for you.
