About this audiobook

After a plane crash, Nikki Boyd and the Missing Persons Task Force race to find a key witness in a high profile case before she is permanently silenced. Nikki Boyd's flight into Nashville was routine--up until the crash landing at the airport. When the dust settles, Nikki discovers that the woman who had been seated next to her on the plane is missing--and no one will admit she was ever there. Erika Hamilton had been flying to Nashville with an air marshal as a key witness in an upcoming grand jury trial. When she flees from the crash, is she running from trouble or straight into it? Before Nikki can even see her family, she and her team are pulled into a missing persons case where the motives are as unclear as the suspects. Bestselling and award-winning author Lisa Harris has planted danger around every turn in this can't-put-it-down thrill ride that will leave readers stunned.

Unrealistic, cliche dialogue, and cheesy Christianity thrown in. (Main character only prays when she needs God's help, without praise only requests). No human could endure a plane crash, a break-in, discovering multiple dead bodies, being taken hostage, witnessing a car crash, repelling down a cliff to have a woman die in her arms, a sniper attack, a car roll-over, plus multiple road trips all while dawning over a new romance and stressing over infertility, let alone someone whose career is to search for missing persons, a rather calm component of the police force, not one known for specialized tactical responses. This woman is Nancy Drew resurrected and people who won't break their silence confess all to her as if she were a priest at confession. Oh, and the title: Pursued suggested the protagonist is being hunted. Here she is pursuing. I skipped the last three soap opera chapters once the criminal had been cornered into a confess-all suicide and the little girl safely found. Gee, didn't see that coming.

I didn't think I could love another series by Lisa Harris as much as I loved her Southern Crimes series, but the Nikki Boyd files definitely give it a run for its money. "Pursued" is the third book in the series and although you'd get more enjoyment out of reading the entire series, you don't have to in order to enjoy this one. The book takes off with a bang, literally, as the flight Nikki is on crash lands and the woman in the seat next to her vanishes, seemingly into thin air. In the midst of all the turmoil, Nikki also has to manage some personal crises of her own, but her lasting faith in God is the anchor that pulls her through. I enjoy not only the suspense and thrill-a-minute aspect of Ms. Harris's books, but also the relationships, complex characters and trust in God that she manages to interweave effortlessly with the non-stop action. This book will keep you flipping pages at warp speed.

I didn't realize this was part of a series when I requested it from Early Reviewers, but it reads just fine as a standalone. I really enjoyed reading it. Great characters, lots of action, kept my interest until the very end!

Special Agent Nikki Boyd is on her way home to Tennessee. She is flying on a plane when they encounter some turbulence. The woman in the seat next to Nikki strikes up a conversation and tells Nikki she is afraid. Before they can continue their conversation, more turbulence strikes and it is discovered that the man next to this woman is dead, then the plane takes a nose dive. After getting off the plane, Nikki notices that the woman has accidentally left her watch in her seat. Nikki tries to find her to return it, but doesn’t see her. She asks for her name of a flight attendant and told that no one was sitting in that seat. There is no record of the woman being on the plane. A mystery begins that will take Nikki on a harrowing journey in the next 24-48 hours. In addition to this, Nikki is to meet Tyler at the airport. He has returned from overseas just a few days ago after a 3-month contract job. He has a new job offer in Tennessee, but he and Nikki haven’t had a chance to talk about a relationship or the future. With this new case of a missing person, Nikki is whisked out of the airport and taken directly to her office to begin the search for the missing woman as Nikki discovers she was supposed to testify at a trial that would have resulted in a famous philanthropist going to jail. With the search on, Nikki is under pressure to find the woman as well as deal with a personal health issue that might affect her future relationship with Tyler. How will she survive the next couple of days? You will have to read this exciting tale to find out!Whew! Talk about nonstop action!! This book starts with a plane crash and never lets up on the adrenaline scale. Special Agent Nikki Boyd endures more chaos in her life in the span of 48 hours than anyone can shake a stick at! She has professional trauma as well as personal drama. It is a good thing she is a Christian or I don’t know how she would keep her sanity. If you like action, then you will certainly enjoy this very entertaining story from the pen of Lisa Harris. Nikki and Tyler make an adorable couple and I am so glad that they are pursuing a relationship together. I have liked her determination to continue investigating her sister’s disappearance for over ten years. I hope more is revealed in the next book, Vanishing Point, about this ongoing mystery. This fourth book in the series is due to be released in November 2017 and I can’t wait!

Lisa Harris’ latest installment in The Nikki Boyd Files gives new meaning to thrill ride. Non-stop action filled with twists and turns is the order of the day. Neither Nikki nor the reader knows from one moment to the next what will happen, making Pursued a late night page turner. Opening with a plane crash (thanks for that Ms. Harris — I left on a European flight the day after beginning this book! ? ), the book takes the reader on a search for a missing federal witness. Neither she nor her pursuers want her to be found, but Nikki Boyd has vowed from the beginning of her career to always discover the truth.Pursued is suspense at its most intense, but introduces a little romance as well. Nikki wants more of a relationship with her friend Tyler, but they never seem to be able to connect due to the urgency of the missing person’s case. That was okay with me, because I prefer my suspense heavy on action and light on love. Nikki is an interesting character who always wants to be in control. Unfortunately, everything seems out of control with the case. And while I never ever want to be in some of the situations Nikki finds herself in, I could identify with the helplessness Nikki feels until she surrenders everything to God. While Nikki had lots of questions, she could be confident that God had the answers. As the case wraps up, there is more time to contemplate what the future may bring Nikki and Tyler. Looks like there will be another thrill ride coming up soon!Recommended.Audience: adults.

I have loved suspense mystery books ever since I was a child and remains to this day my genre. I had read all of my current favorite authors and needed something to read so I picked up the first book in the Nicki Boyd series at the library and was hooked. I decided to read the rest of the series. While waiting for the chance to read book 3 I read all the books in her Southern Crime series. Lisa Harris has become one of my favorites as an author that manages to keep me engaged in her books. Her books keep me up too late at night trying to finish them. Starting with book 1 we learn that Nikki's first career was teaching school. She became interested in the Missing Persons unit of law enforcement when her teen sister comes up missing. She has been able to solve many missing persons mysteries but has yet to solve the case of her missing sister. In each book in the series she gets closer to learning the truth. In this book she is on a flight from California back to Nashville and is engages a conversation with a woman. The plane comes close to crashing and they make an emergency landing but then it is like the woman never existed. Where did the woman go? I had to keep turning this action packed novel to find out the mystery. This books has so much action in it. Lisa Harris' style of writing suspense is very much similar to Lynette Eason another suspense author I love.Lisa Harris will be releasing the fourth in the Nickki Boyd series. I can't wait to find out what happens. Will she ever find out what happened to her sister. Thanks to LibraryThing Early Reviewers and Revell Books for providing me a copy of this book to read and review

I love Nikki Boyd. I hope I don't have a day like hers. To first get in a plane wreck and then get pulled in to a missing persons case. Her day just keeps going from there. There are many twists and turns throug this book. I love the suspense in this story. There is just a tad of romance also. This is a great story. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

The book starts out with terror in the skies and doesn't let up as Nikki is on the case of a missing woman. What would you do if you were sitting on a plane talking to someone and there is no record of them being on the flight? Nikki knows the missing woman was there and will not stop till the mystery is solved. Who is the man sitting next to him on the plane? I love this character because she is determined, smart , relies on God and is resilient. I loved how the author allows Nikki to be vulnerable at times and allows readers to see in her weakest moments she calls out to God. I really am not a big fan of flying and the opening scene was so well written I felt like I was on the plane waiting for the crash to happen. The author writes such explosive scenes that pop off the page with heart pounding speed. Nikki has been assigned the case for the missing woman on the plane and gets deeper into a story that had my adrenaline pumping . Nikki and her partner Jack seem to find danger as each turn they take in the case . I began to wonder just how much Nikki was going to be able to endure when she encounters life threatening injuries . The story is a web of deceit, secrets and twists that keep readers on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed the interactions between Nikki and Tyler. After being apart due to work, they finally hope to spend some much needed time together. Will Nikki's job leave Tyler second guessing their relationship? Can Nikki and her team find the missing woman before disaster strikes? Get ready for action at full throttle in this installment of The Nikki Boyd Files. I received a copy of this book from Revell Books and Librarything Early Readers Program. The review is my honest opinion.

This book starts off running as Nikki 's flight into Nashville crash lands what follows is a series of events that keeps everyone looking. I liked how Nikki was willing to stick with what she believed from the person who she thought was sitting next to her to the motive behind it all. I also liked seeing how her relationship with Tyler progresses. This book is a real page turner and I am really enjoying this series. I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher but the review is entirely my own.

It is always a roller coaster ride when I read a Lisa Harris novel. She packs so much adventure and suspense into the pages and the characters are so likeable - unless, of course, they are the villains. The Nikki Boyd series has this TBI agent pursuing the bad folks and this pursuit is colored by her own personal family history where she lost a younger sister to a terrible crime. She has deep concern and compassion to those affected by similar crimes and viciously and determinedly pursues the culprits. In Pursued the characters on the run are a mother and her young daughter who are trying to escape the clutches of the girl's father and his vast criminal involvement. The chase involves one terrible incident after another with Nikki barely escaping serious injury or death. Her climbing skills are again called into play as she rappels down a mountain to check on an automobile accident victim. This book is easy reading that is suspenseful and action packed. The Christian element is there in the moral compass of the characters and their mention of praying. No preaching or lengthy Biblical passages. A good, clean read.DISCLOSURE: I received a complimentary copy to facilitate this review. Opinions expressed are solely my own and are freely given.

Whenever I read a series, one of the questions I ask myself is if I would read more in the series. In this case, my answer is yes! I want to go back and read the previous two books in this series as well as watch for future series installments. It's nice to find a new author to read.Nikki Boyd investigates missing person cases. She's sitting next to a woman on a plane--a woman who disappears. The FBI asks Nikki and her team to help with the case, partly because of Nikki's previous association with this woman. Unfortunately, that delays Nikki's reunion with her boyfriend and her family. I look forward to seeing Nikki and Tyler get married, and to seeing if they have a child (or children) of their own, or if they adopt. (This will probably (hopefully) come in a future installment of the series.) I also look forward to getting to know Nikki's family more--perhaps in the past 2 books or in future books. Note: I received this book as part of LibraryThing's Early Reviewers Program in exchange for an honest review.

Can you imagine sitting next to someone on a plane and having the plane crash, you survive, but they tell you that no one was in the seat next to you? Must have a concussion, but you have something in your possession that proves you are right, will they believe you? This is basically what happens to Nikki, and what it leads to is unimaginable.By the end of this book it is a miracle that Nikki even survives, from one page to the next her life is one the line, and she seems to be an energizer bunny, and keeps on going. This is one of those books that you are quickly turning the pages for answers, but once you are at the end you wish you had gone slower, and that there was more.If you like mystery and suspense this book is for you, and although it is the third book in this series, you will not be lost to read as a stand alone, but it will make you want to read the other two, they are just as good. I want more!I received this book through the Publisher Revell and their Blogger Program, and was not required to give a positive review.

Pursued, third in the Nikki Boyd Files series by Lisa Harris, is a book you will need to fasten your seatbelt for. The breakneck action, taking place over just two short days, begins in the first chapter with a plane crash and doesn't quit til the last chapter with sniper gunshots and a race to another airfield. Tucked in between are a myriad of other edge-of-the-seat, breath-holding scenes. Can Nikki and her team find the woman she met on the plane and who is now missing? A woman who authorities say doesn't even exist! Is she just chasing ghosts just like with her missing sister's case? And what about her relationship with widower Tyler? Will they ever have time to make it blossom into a romance? The author has written a plot that crackles with energy and tells an entertaining and suspenseful story. The characters are realistic (although I was beginning to wonder if the determined and driven Nikki might be a smidge superhuman!--but she has her foibles too--balancing her work life and her personal life leaves Nikki feeling pulled in too many directions), intense, and evocative--you definitely are rooting for the good guys to catch the bad guys and to catch them in time! Through all the action and drama, a thread of faith in a God who cares is woven into the story, reminding readers that God can be relied on for strength and wisdom in times of stress. I can't wait to read more of this author's books.I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. A review was not required and the opinions are my own.
