Reviews for The Blue Cross

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I've read this one before, and enjoyed it just as much the second time through. The antics of "the simple celibate cleric" (aka Father Brown), never cease to be enjoyable and thought-provoking.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Can Father Brown outwit the great criminal Flambeau, and if so, how in my first Father Brown story.
An amusing short story. On to the next - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5In this first Fr. Brown mystery, Fr. Brown takes a back seat to Detective Valentin of the French police. Valentin is chasing a robber and is one step behind him. He is led on a merry chase from Harwich, through London to Hampstead Heath where Fr. Brown finally appears. Before the arrest is made, there is a discussion about the universality of Christian morality, which a century later this atheist did not find very tolerable. The chase itself is good fun.
