About this audiobook
#1 New York Times bestselling author Kendare Blake returns with the highly anticipated third book in the Three Dark Crowns series! And while Arsinoe, Mirabella, and Katharine all have their own scores to settle, there is another queen stirring things up on Fennbirn Island.
Queen Katharine has waited her entire life to wear the crown. But now that she finally has it, the murmurs of dissent grow louder by the day. There’s also the alarming issue of whether her sisters are actually dead—or if they’re waiting in the wings to usurp the throne.
Mirabella and Arsinoe are alive, but in hiding on the mainland and dealing with a nightmare of their own: being visited repeatedly by a specter they think might be the fabled Blue Queen. Though she says nothing, her rotting, bony finger pointing out to sea is clear enough: return to Fennbirn.
Jules, too, is in a strange place—in disguise. And her only confidants, a war-gifted girl named Emilia and her oracle friend Mathilde, are urging her to take on a role she can’t imagine filling: a legion-cursed queen who will lead a rebel army to Katharine’s doorstep.
This is an uprising that the mysterious Blue Queen may have more to do with than anyone could have guessed—or expected.
Don't miss Five Dark Fates, the thrilling conclusion to the series!

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Just not as entertaining as the first two. Just thought this one had an OK plot that moved at a slow pace.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The characters, the world, and the story are also rich and interesting without ever feeling overwhelming.
The author delivers yet another fantastic sequel. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Wow is Katharine weak of what. Like girl stand up for yourself
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Really good! Rated just like the past two books.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Terrific! Kendare Blake does it again in the third installment of THREE DARK CROWNS. "Two Dark Reigns" gives fans another roller coaster ride in Fennbirn. Particularly satisfying is the emergence of Jules as a leading woman and a scary peep into Queen Katharine's reign. Shudder. Darkness everywhere ... There's NO telling where things will go in the final book, and that may be the main reason Blake's books are so much fun to read.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5*I received an ARC copy from the publisher for review. This does not affect my review.*
This book... After finishing One Dark Throne, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book, and although I loved it, I really don't know what to expect in the final book of this series. The first two were full of surprises, don't get me wrong, this this one takes all that, and turns everything inside-out and upside-down. I just... *mind-blown* I didn't expect any of this, okay maybe I did, but not before I started reading. Some things make sense, and the more you read, the more you will come to understand, but there is no telling what will happen, and how things will end for Fennbirn. I will say that this one is pretty dark (although that's probably expected). I have always loved all three queens for different reasons, but after reading this one, I have no idea who to cheer for, or even what I want to happen any more in the next book. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I purchased this book from Amazon to read with @popthebutterfly readalong. All opinions are my own. ?????Two Dark Reigns by Kendare Blake. After learning the history of the Island of Fennbirn, we read about an epic battle that lead to a poisoner queen crowned and two sisters not crowned by an escape default. Our crowned queen continues with strange behavior on the island while at the mainland her sisters are fighting to find normalcy and one is having nightmares about The Blue Queen of the island that will lead her to answers she must discover. The most meant to protect the island is stronger than ever and killing it's own people causing some anxiety among the islanders which leads Jules to make some decisions of her own about an uprising. So when the escaped queens return to the island everything they have known to be true is coming undone. I can not wait until book 4 comes out! - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It took me a little longer than I would have liked to finish. There were some points where it dragged a little but once it picked back up again it was really great! I love how things played out with each sister and I loved how it ended. Each book definitely leaves you with wanting more! There was one part near the end that I didn't like so I am hoping maybe it is not as it seems and it be different in the last book. Overall I highly recommend this series!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Diving deeper into the history of the island and the Queens who have come before the sisters we encounter in the first book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I generally love Kendare Blake's books and felt the same about the first two books in this series, but I found myself easily distracted from reading this one. It's good, but I think I'm just losing interest in the characters. I'll read the fourth (and final?) book, just to find out what happens, but I'm not vibrating with anticipation for it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This series continually hold my attention. The plot really thickens in this one! Instead of just fighting each other, they have a new enemy, the mist. The mist that has been guarding the island begins to attack the islanders without mercy. Over on the mainland Arsinoe begins to have weird dreams of the Blue Queen and she begins to feel the pull of the island. She convinces Mirabella and Billy to go back with her to the island, but they have no idea what is in store for them. Back on the island the warriors are convincing Jules that she should lead the uprising as the Legion Queen and Queen Katherine is having one hell of a time keeping the dead queens inside of her in check. All in all, it's another great installment and as always it ends with a cliffhanger!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5When she finally gets the crown, Queen Katherine faces murmurs of dissent among her people and the threat of her sisters returning to Fennbirn to usurp her throne.
