This is Carlton Smith's finest hour. There have been other books on this case, but somehow he manages to dig up a lot of original information and then put it in context against the backdrop of some greater issues, such as mental health, and the culpability of the athletes who took advantage of DuPont's largesse. It was very interesting and illuminating to get a look at the behind the scenes factors that went into this murder. Highly recommended. Especially if you saw the Steve Carell movie on this case and was wondering what the heck all the subtext was about.
