About this audiobook

The gods walk among us. And they just might steal your soul . . . or your heart.

I thought I'd survived everything life could throw at me. All I wanted was to keep my distance from the criminals I work for and get my little brother out of the hell that is our mother's house.

Then I died and woke up to four stunningly hot gods telling me I'm now a valkyrie.

Sly, sharp Loki. Jovial but ferocious Thor. Dreamily compassionate Baldur. Grim and secretive Hod. They all have something to teach me. And around them, my walls start to crack.

But the gods didn't summon me just for kicks. Their king is missing, and they need me to find him. The first three valkyries they sent on the job never made it back.

More power is awakening in me than I could ever have imagined-and the gods' enemies are more devious than even they knew. It's going to take every trick in the book for me to save myself, my brother, and these divine men who're getting under my skin in the most alluring way.

I'm Aria Watson, and Valhalla ain't seen nothing yet.

Contains mature themes.

Enjoyed this first book of Eva Chase's supernatural RH series focusing on Norse mythology. I really enjoyed Aria, the valkyrie that was made by combining essences of Thor, Loki, Hod, and Baldur. The reason they ripped Aria from her impending death to become this powerful creature of lore was to help find the all-father, Odin. We get to see Aria come to terms with her new life, protecting her one remaining family member who matters while dealing with all of this, and her start to build potential relationships with her Gods. I really enjoyed her getting to learn her powers. I thought it was kinda abrupt but I understand to get the story moving along that needed to be done. I liked seeing the walls start to crack/crumble between her and certain characters. I think in book 1, Loki was probably my favorite. That does get challenged in book 2 haha. Overall, I thought it was a solid 4 star start to this series. I went to the next book immediately after finishing this one, with how book 1 ended I needed to know what new thing they had to overcome haha.

For the narration, I always enjoy Aiden Snow when he does the male narration, but he isn't my favorite when he has to do the female voices, and that is still the case here. He would get 100/5 for the male narration, but only a 4/5 for the female. He does a fabulous job I think especially with Hod, Aiden is amazing when you bring darkness and mystery into a story. For Samantha Cook's performance, I thought she did a great job. She was amazing with Aria and Petey, and some of the guys. I did have a couple instances where I couldn't tell which guy was who, but nothing too major.

Definitely would recommended this series for those who love the action-packed stories, supernatural/magical powers, and reverse harem. Book 1 I will warn you is not steamy. I would classify it a slow-burn, almost medium-burn. The story and relationships come before the sex, which is good for this type of storyline.

Everything seemed kinda rushed. Not spicy at all. Had one smut scene but I felt like it could have been written better. Not really feeling the chemistry btw the mc and the boys. But… the female narrator…chefs kiss… like when she started singing, Oml. Overall it was kinda bland so I Iost focus a couple times and bc the the book moves so fast, u miss a lot in those little mins. Not good enough for me to continue the series in my opinion.
