Über dieses Hörbuch
Life has become a farcical mess for icy British A-lister Elizabeth Thornton. America's most-hated villain stars in a top-rated TV medical drama that she hates. Now, she's been romantically linked to her perky, new co-star, Summer, due to the young woman's clumsiness. As a closeted actress, that's the last thing Elizabeth needs. If she could just get her dream movie role, life would be so much better. The only problem is that the eccentric French film-maker offering it insists on meeting her "girlfriend", Summer, first.
Summer Hayes is devastated when her co-star shuns her for accidentally sparking rumors that they're lovers. Now the so-called British Bitch has the audacity to ask Summer to pretend to be her girlfriend to get her a role? Elizabeth doesn't even like Summer! Oh, how she'd love to tell her no. And Summer definitely would if it wasn't for the fact she's maybe a tiny bit in love with the impossible woman.
Contains mature themes.

- Bewertung: 4 von 5 Sternen4/5Liked it! Really cute story. Could take less time to figure they're both gay, but it was forgivable
- Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5Lee Winter is becoming one of my favorite authors. I started listening to this book as a way to get over my hangover from The Brutal Truth. I did not think that I would find myself hours later enthralled with this book now and finding any reason to put my air pods in so I could listen. I even offered to do the dishes, laundry, and mow the lawn just so I could stay in the world Winter had created around these characters. I loved every moment of it.
What I did not expect was to laugh as much as I did. Summer is such an adorable, funny character, and the brilliant Angela Dawe did an amazing job with her voice. I could swear she sounded exactly like Kristen Bell, who I pictured throughout the book. Summer reminded me of her in so many ways.
I never used to be a fan of slow burns, but Lee Winter has changed me forever.
10 stars in my book. - Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5Beautiful! So in love with the story and the narration!
- Bewertung: 4 von 5 Sternen4/5Excellent narration! Enjoyable story and Lee Winters always delivers with her words.
- Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5Best romance novel I've read or listened to. The narrator was great
- Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5Wow...Awesome read..couldn't stop listing. Slow start but so worth it!!!!!
- Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5This was my first Lee Winter book and it was incredible. I loved the chemistry between Elizabeth and Summer. I loved their dynamic and the way they were with each other.
This was so wonderful from start to finish. - Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5Freaking loved it, the atmosphere the passion and the drama
- Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5Great characters, witty writing, and Angela Dawe narrating, as always, doesn’t disappoint!
- Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5Absolutely brilliant!!! Perfect novel by Lee Winter and the narration of Angela Dawe is just phenomenal.
- Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5Beautiful! I don’t want it to end! Love it much!
- Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5I just finished listening to the audiobook narrated by Angela Dawe and all I have to say is HOT DAMN!! Before I talk about the story, I have to talk about this amazing narrator. Angela Dawe, pls marry me!! Jk, but no really lol this woman is so talented!! All the people she voiced with all those different accents!! Just wow! My mind was blown! But I have to admit that my favorite accent was Elizabeth’s. British accents always get to me in a special way. That was simply amazing! I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for audiobooks narrated by Angela Dawe. Breathtaking!
Regarding this story, I LOVED IT!!! I loved everything!! The main characters and all the side characters, except Grace... for obvious reasons lol
but omg Bess and Summer’s relationship was so beautiful to watch! At first, Bess was annoying me a little with all that obsession with Grace but at the same time I understood her, but since I had a soft spot for Summer, I was, of course, rooting for her and for her to be with the woman she loved. This story really has it all and I’m enamored with it all! This isn’t my first Lee Winter book, but damn SHE IS SO TALENTED! She’s definitely in my top 3 of best wlw writers EVER! The stories she creates are just so deep and emotional and so romantic and I love how invested I get in the storyline and how I can’t stop reading until I reach the end. And that’s why it’s 5AM and I’m still up lol couldn’t sleep until I reached the happy ending ?
100% recommend! - Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5Great book and really perfect narrating - I just loved it!

- Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5The description does not do this book justice! Simply amazing chemistry. Do not pass this one up!
- Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5Probably the best Actress/Hollywood Romance I have ever read and listened to.
The story is not trying anybody to change, rather, it’s what the title says, breaking ones presumed character. It’s about peeling, cracking and being oneself, standing up for yourself on your own volition not because someone pushed you to. It’s also about being truthful, oblivious to truths and finding truths.
Summer’s character was filled with both longing and great understanding. She knows herself, her worth, her feelings and she just let life flow.
She understood situations, and knows boundaries and risks. She’s patient and honest.
She’s not whiny, just quirky - and she really take actions, making things happen not relying on luck. I love how she can read people, and knows how to work on the situations, and subtlety turns it and controls it without it being obvious, without being too loud.
I know her character was supposed to be someone who have admired someone for too long and never moved on, like fangirl, but it wasn’t, it was more.
Elizabeth on the otherhand built her current situation, she was stuck and can’t let go. But instead of changing her, it was simply about her going back to her roots, and breaking from her self made prison, peeling her self made masks.
I think, this is also my favorite on all the Dawes narrated audiobook I have listened to. The voices here, matches the characters very well. It was lovely. - Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5Lee Winter's best work, narrated by my favourite Angela Dawes― no wonder I finished this in one sitting!

- Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5My least favourite thing about this book is that it ends.
This is a book I wish I could crawl inside and stay forever in Bess and Summer’s world.1 Person fand dies hilfreich
- Bewertung: 3 von 5 Sternen3/5Hmmmmm.....I usually love Lee Winter stories but..alas...not this one. I did not feel any chemistry between the 2 m/c. Possibly it was because I listened to the audiobook. The narration made "Summer" the 28 year old sound like 16, young and giddy. "Elizabeth" the 37 year old sounded like 60, old and stoggy.
Not a good match.
This is one of the first times the audio version ruined the story for me.
The story was ok but the romance not so much. - Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5Everything about the book was amazing!! It was my first audiobook and Angela Dawe has basically ruined me for any other narrators. The story was written so beautifully. The plot although albeit common but Lee managed to make it unique. Really really recommend this!

- Bewertung: 5 von 5 Sternen5/5I was given this ARC by the publisher in exchange for an Honest Review. This was amazing. And at times intense. I shouldn't be surprised though, since it's a Lee Winter novel. It's the story of Elizabeth and Summer. Elizabeth is a star (and villain) of a primetime medical show on TV (I know that I was supposed to think Grey's Anatomy when I was reading, but, I'm old school, I couldn't stop thinking ER). Summer is a new actress on the show who makes a big honkin' mistake to start the novel (and a sorta icky one). It is also set up at the very beginning that Elizabeth is known as an ice queen while Summer is a bubbly former child star who's trying to get into more adult roles. They have a rocky start (once Elizabeth gets cleaned up), but, slowly, (of course, this is a romance) they get closer. Partially because they act more together, but also they get to know each other more personally when they are half forced, half come up with the idea to pretend to be girlfriends so that Elizabeth can get a really good movie role. The characters were amazingly interesting. Especially Grace, one of Elizabeth's friends, as well as Summer's Mom. Their characters complicated and zany as all get out to the max respectively. The plot had enough surprising (to me) twist to keep me interested in the plot as well.It was an all around awesome book.
