A little slow starting, but gears up and has a lot of exciting moments. Great cliffhanger. I'm glad book three is already out!

In some sort of weird twist in the universe of trilogies, I liked this one much better than the first. The premise is still just so... stupid. I guess I've had time to deal with the whole "love is a disease" concept and move on, which probably helped. I just loved the action in this story, too. I loved Julian as a character, I loved learning about how to live in the Wilds. Hands down better than the first.I might as well mention something that bugs me, though. If living in an encampment up North means you have to move every winter and moving is so dangerous why on earth wouldn't you just stay down South? Why keep wandering North again? This bugged me more than it should have, I'm sure, but it is my burning question.Anyway, the end of this novel is both obvious and sweet torture. Bring on Requiem!

Another one I would give ten stars to, if I could. It was the perfect sequel. Can't wait for the next one.

I think I would give this a 3.5. I liked the first book more than this one and I totally predicted the ending from the very beginning. I do still intend to read the next one though.

This book is filled with action and romance. There is definitely a faster pace to this book than the previous book in the trilogy. This book had my on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down. The only thing that I didn't completely love about this was the ending. I am excited to read the third book.

I was right to switch to reading from audiobook - the teen angst, predictable as it is, slides by much more easily. I enjoyed the double storylines, one for Lena's introduction to the wilds and the second her first mission for the resistance. I've got the 3rd book in hand thanks to my generous YA distopia loving co-worker.

Seriously? Do we really have to do the love triangle thing here? I thought this was supposed to be about growth, not angsty teen lurrrrrrrrve.

Couldn't put the book down! Read in one sitting and still wanting more. And the end doesn't make yearning for the last in the trilogy to be published any less desirable. Wish I had access to a pre-pub! Answers are given in the sequel yet more intrigue and more love than one can handle all lead to a fast-paced read. You don't understand the true extent of the rollercoaster you hopped aboard until the last pages. And WOW! I am still amazed at what was seen and stunned by what happens. Read it.

Suspenseful, absolutely. I can't wait for the next book!! Realistic? Not even close. People don't survive that much even in adventure films!!

After crossing into the Wilds, Lena can only fear the worst--that Alex is dead--and that she must now survive on her own. Fortunately, she falls in with a group of Invalids and eventually re-enters society as a part of the Resistance. In the Resistance, Lena has a part in trying to dismantle the Deliria-Free America group...except that she unwittingly finds herself falling for its leader's "uncured" son, Julian. "Pandemonium" had the same energy and drive as "Delirium," but went deeper into the politics and morality of a country where people did not have the basic free will to fall in love. This was an exciting read and I'm eager to see how it all wraps up in "Requiem."

***SPOILERS*** i am not sure what i think about this book. i was so looking forward to it and i was, sadly, disappointed. this book had none of the almost lyrical writing that i love from the first book. i understand the reasoning for that, i suppose. the first book was about her falling in love and chaning her outlook on life and the second was about her new self and the "war". but this book was also SO predictable. obviously we knew she was going to fall in love in the first book or there wouldn't be a series but this was...idk. i knew Julian was going to be her new love. i knew that Alex was going to show up at the last minute. now Alex is going to be the hardened, scorned ex-lover and now there is going to be a love triangle and i was so so hoping that this series was above the love triangle plotline. i guess not. :(

I enjoyed this book more than I did Delirium. I think it's because of Lena's inner turmoil. I also loved how the chapters went back and forth from her time in the wilds to her time now. Each time something in the present happened, she was able to relate to something she encountered with her makeshift family in the wilds.

The characters in the sequel are a little more harsh. But I think that's because not all of them came from cookie cutter families. Julian reminded me so much of Lena while she was still in Portland. The difference in him though is that he did break rules before. He just didn't get caught. The story of Julian's brother and Blue had me almost in tears. So emotional.

There were a few things that bothered me. Although it's the same narrator in both books, she pronounced Hanna's name different. It's a little thing, but it was enough to bug me. I also had the ending predicted by the middle of the book.

Even with all that, I'm anxious to see what happens in Requiem.

I have read both Delirium and Pandemonium within the last week and am greatly anticipating Requiem in the spring of 2013! I didn't think that the second book could be any better than the first but I enjoyed it even more. Lauren Oliver is a very talented author and I look forward to reading more from her. Highly recommend the Delirium series and Before I Fall!

Book has a strange story but one that intrigues and keeps you interested. It's based in Portland, Oregon where at age 18 everyone gets the cure. It is believed that Love is a disease and is bad so at age 18 the cure is given which takes away all the feeling from a person. It's a police and if you break the rules you are executed or put somewhere you'll never get out of.

Boys and Girls under 18 do not mix or talk to each other. Once you are tested before you take the cure you are assigned a pair- your marriage partner. The main character Anna is almost at the age to take the cure but just as it's getting close her whole world explodes. Pandemonium follows our history but in a version where Love is a disease. It's an interesting view of our society with a different set of rules.

This book was good but incredibly frustrating. An author should not lightly kill off a main character's love interest, should not lightly introduce a new love interest and should be very careful of having the first love interest show up alive in the end of the book. It bothered me that Lena gave Alex up for dead so quickly. But it was a good follow up to the first book, all in all.

I didn't think this was nearly as good as the first one. Now I don't really care whether I read the next book because I no longer care about the characters. I couldn't relate to any of the new characters, and Lena just got on my nerves.

Ok. So I have just finished this explosive book! I almost wrote my review nore finishing the last few pages, but im glad I didn't now. I am pretty sure that I hate this author now for leaving the end like she did! Well I suppose it is a love/hate relationship. This is probably the best book I have ever read! I could not put it down. I would find myself sneaking in a few pages at work or at a long red light. Im going to whine a little now and say I cant believe I have to wait a whole year for the last book!! I would recommend (if you have no patience like me) that you wait until all three are out to start them. Because let me warn you this series is highly addictive!

The book picks up Lena's story after she has escaped to the Wilds on her own after Alex is shot at the crossing. The chapters alternate between "then" and "now". Lena is rescued by a group of Invalids who are also part of the resistance. There is a kidnapping, a new love interest, a possible encounter with her mother, and several fights to survive. I'm not quite sure how much time elapsed between the "then" and "now" sections, enough for Lena to go undercover in New York under an assumed identity. Shorter than the first installment. The last pages of the book brought on a twist, although one I thought would be coming. Still, I'll pick up the next installment when it is released...mostly because the cliffhanger got me again, and I want to see how Lena handles it.

In the second book of the Delirium trilogy, Pandemonium, Lena learns the ways of the Wilds and joins the resistance. The novel begins where the other book left off and each chapter switches from then to now. The drama, suspense, and romance make this a riveting read. Though, in my opinion, the start is a bit slow, but the second half and especially the end, make up for it. I'm still reeling from the ending. I can't believe I have to wait a year for Requiem!

I loved the 'then' and 'now' idea- it fit really well. Really exciting, although the big dilemma to come in 'Requiem' was predictable. Still love it though!

I knew it. I knew how the book would end, and I am dying to read the third. This was so good. I loved reading how events and life unfolded for Lena. OH my gosh, you have to read it to know. I loved it. Probably more than the first one.

This was one book I was really looking forward to and it did not disappoint although maybe it did a little bit at the end.
Why do we have to have another girl who loves 3 boys scenario. I knew it was coming, that Alex would come back but not that she would fall in love with another guy. I love how Lauren Oliver writes. I have become a fan of her just by reading 2 books. This one was the third.

Another thing, I would also have preferred that the book would have been written in chronological order. First the time after she escaped, her life in the wild, then how she slowly becomes stronger to turn into a strong fighter and her beginning of her live in the resistance.
I think that would have been better. More of an impact.
Now I am not sure what grade to give this book.

I've been looking forward to this sequel of Delirium, and I have to say that it didn't disappoint. While I found the book to be fairly (very) predictable, I think overall I enjoyed it just as much as the first one. The story was interesting, and the romance was really sweet. I do like Lena, and I'm already feeling sorry for the things she's going to have to deal with in the next book. This book definitely left me wanting to read more. The only real gripe I have with this book is Lena's usage of curse words. I've read plenty of books where the cursing feels authentic, this however was not one of them; to me it just sounded forced coming from her and kept making me cringe. (I didn't really explain that well, it just felt very off.)
