About this audiobook

“Fierce and unrelenting…Do yourself a favor and get lost in this beautiful book!” — Tomi Adeyemi, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Children of Blood and Bone

"Narrator Shayna Small delivers a versatile performance in this young adult fantasy filled with mermaids and magic." -- AudioFile Magazine

Set in a kingdom where danger lurks beneath the sea, mermaids seek vengeance with song, and magic is a choice, Adalyn Grace’s All the Stars and Teeth is a thrilling fantasy for fans of Stephanie Garber’s Caraval and Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass series.

She will reign.

As princess of the island kingdom Visidia, Amora Montara has spent her entire life training to be High Animancer—the master of souls. The rest of the realm can choose their magic, but for Amora, it’s never been a choice. To secure her place as heir to the throne, she must prove her mastery of the monarchy’s dangerous soul magic.

When her demonstration goes awry, Amora is forced to flee. She strikes a deal with Bastian, a mysterious pirate: he’ll help her prove she’s fit to rule, if she’ll help him reclaim his stolen magic.

But sailing the kingdom holds more wonder—and more peril—than Amora anticipated. A destructive new magic is on the rise, and if Amora is to conquer it, she’ll need to face legendary monsters, cross paths with vengeful mermaids, and deal with a stow-away she never expected… or risk the fate of Visidia and lose the crown forever.

I am the right choice. The only choice. And I will protect my kingdom.

This was a fantastic read. The character growth that Amora had to go through was extraordinarily written. Standing up for what's right is not easy to do.

I loved listening to this, however i did feel a bit lost at times. I truly did enjoy it though so it was not a total bust.

Some review almost made me miss a good book. This person was complaining that the main character was spoiled at the beginning of the book and then suddenly became a fierce warrior. Not true at all the main character changes just enough to be expected from her struggles but her journey only strengthens her true self more revealing to us what was already there but not able to present itself do to her being held back and kept in the dark. Over all , very addictive and very good story

I liked the story and the characters but the narrator wasn’t a good fit for the story.
She made the guys in the story sound like either little boys or old men, not appealing, and gave some people a random accent.

Other than the narrator I enjoyed the story.

Dramatic writing style becomes tiring after a few chapters. Characters are flat and uninspired with no clear defining traits. The main character starts off a spoiled brat and within a few chapters is suddenly a selfless princess ready to die for her people. The author hands the answer to the mystery directly to the characters without much work.

When Amorality and Sebastian When to find the mermaid was very real I felt I was in adventure

I found myself mainly bored the entire story, I could barely finish it if it wasn't for the fact I was using this book for a prompt. I didn't care for the characters, found the main character annoying.

I read this just about a year ago and was excited when I saw the sequel was out, but realized I remembered NOTHING ? I read a few books with pirates and mermaids and magic and apparently blanked entirely on this one, except to remember I liked it? I’m there for the romance in this one, and I liked the magic system, and I’m excited to go into the next one, but I wasn’t blown away by it (maybe why I didn’t remember anything ?)

I found this book to be generic, there was nothing new and different about it. The books basic premise and forgettable characters make it hard to get into the story and the world. I would like to state that even though I did not enjoy the story I understand that this is a debut author and is likely greatly influenced by editors and publishers, I still have hope for this author. Overall I found the book boring, the main characters annoying and the plot points generic.

The first 50% were amazing, and I found the other part a bit predictable, but overall it was a great read!

Reading this was a slog. The magic system is uninspired and the characters are unlikable.

    Princesses, Pirates, Mermaids, OH MY!

I definitely got out of my comfort zone on this read, as I'm not typically a fan of fantasy books. While I didn't *love* it, I do think that fans of fantasy will absolutely eat it up.

The author does a great job with world building, without it being too wordy or overly complicated. The writing is descriptive, but not flowery. I was worried it wouldn't hold my attention, but the pacing was really well done. The adventures were fun, and the fight scenes were great! I felt like the main character was written well, and is someone readers could root for.

The book is a little tropey (like the love triangle being thrown in) and somewhat predictable, but the book does a great job with leaving readers wanting more from this story.
