About this audiobook
What do ghosts fear? The Hungry Ones . . .
At the outskirts of Maple City sits the Crossroads Motel, a throwback to the days when the motor lodge was king. Two years ago, the motel was the site of an act so brutal that its buildings were left to rot.
Jessie Voss, however, sees promise in the Crossroad's bare bones and buys it up, determined to breathe new life into the place.
When the Larson family shows up on her doorstep, road-weary and desperate for a break, Jessie offers them lodging, even though her grand opening is still a week away.
But the arrival of guests awakens the motel, and Jessie soon finds herself host to both the living and the dead.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I went straight into this book after listening to the first in the series. I liked the continuation of the Larsons story but through the eyes of the young motel owner. It really expanded on the first story. I'm trying to stay as spoiler light as I can. In a way these books remind me of the Netflix TV show Fear Street, in that the ghost of the past haunts the present day. I hope the authors agent is pitching it.
Another great narration by the author.1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed his previous book, “The Nightmare Room”, but this one a little more. It’s sequel and it doesn't disappoint. We visit some of the characters from the first book again but see them in a different light. You really do need to read the first book before this one...but this one can stand well on its own with new characters and plot twists. Basically...without giving too much away... Jesse buys a hotel that was a scene of multi murders. I guess she didn't expect anything strange to happen. As you have more than likely guessed... she was wrong. You can find out how wrong and meet the new characters which includes a smart little boy...a psychic... and a cow. Just for the record, the cow is totally innocent.
