Why did you change the narrator??? This narrator is not too bad but the previous one exactly sounded like lara jean! it’s a shame?

What I loved about this book: I appreciate that the main character is mixed Asian in a single parent family. It’s important for diverse identities to be represented. I wish it addressed more of what it means to negotiate a biracial/bicultural identity. I also liked how the author kept the relationships among sisters as a prominent theme. I wish the main character was more assertive about being respected by the boys in her life. At times it seems that she quietly goes along with boys without really providing consent. Most concerning is the way girls are negatively judged for having sex in this story. It would have been nice to imagine a world that’s a bit more equitable.

I love the movie and how it was portrayed but and I know it was based off of this books but I love how the book tells more detail and you can really create a image of everything that is going on as you read it or listen and I just love how it was and I enjoy it quite well

Watched the move first, read the book next so there is nothing much to say about Peter K since I have Noah’s interpretation stuck in my head. This is a cute and fluffy story that did not end like I expected (I expected movie ending). Peter as a character (not to be mistaken as actual Peter) tries too hard to be perfect and I’m not sold on him.

Quelle belle surprise !!! J'ai vu les 2 premiers films sur Netflix, je m'attendais à une romance banal d'ado. Mais c'est plus que cela, c'est frais et addictif.

I went in with a blind eye on this. However I’m really glad that I did. This book was cute I should say. Very chick flick. I recommend.

It was really cute . I just love all the characters . It was a fast and comforting read . This book reminded me how everything I read doesn't have to be serious and filled with plot twists .

When sixteen-year-old Lara Jean Song has a crush on a boy, she writes him a love letter. She never sends them – she tucks them away in a hatbox her mother gave her. Her mother passed away a few years ago and now her older sister Margo is going off to college out of the country, leaving Lara Jean in charge of helping her dad with her younger sister Kitty. One day at school, when Peter Kavinsky, the hottest boy in the junior class, tells her he received a letter from her, she realizes that all of her letters have been sent! Including the one to her sister’s boyfriend Josh. When Josh confronts her about her letter, she tells Josh that Peter is her boyfriend and she’s over him. Luckily, Peter wants to make his ex-girlfriend Genevieve jealous. Lara Jean and Peter decide they can each get what they want if they pretend to be boyfriend/girlfriend.I watched the Netflix movie based on To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before a few years ago and thought it was cute. For some reason, it popped into my head last week and I decided to listen to the audiobook. Since it’s been so long since I watched the movie, I can’t really make any comparisons between the two other than to say that I enjoyed the book as much as the movie. I liked that the high school kids had the same maturity as real high school kids. I have two high-schoolers right now so I’m familiar! Lara Jean is sweet and naive, as some kids are, without being cloying. I loved her character. Her sister Margo could be an overbearing pill but aren’t all older sisters? (I’m an oldest child so I can say that!)The only part that’s not entirely believable is that someone could send all those letters out. How did they know all the boys’ addresses? Unless Lara Jean addressed them even though she wasn’t going to send them? Anyway, just let that part go and enjoy the story. There are two more books in the series and I plan to listen to both. Yes, this is a young-adult book, but I think it appeals to all ages.

Oh what fun! I see why the girls like this one so much. It is not really to my taste but I have a student who has read the series multiple times so I thought I'd see what the fuss was about. I listened to it and that may be why I liked it so much, the narrator did different voices that did not distract. The story was hysterical in parts especially the way it begins but it was also heart-wrenching in parts with sisters growing up and maybe growing apart. I will definitely read/listen to the next one.

Jenny Han is a popular author in our school library and her books are rarely on the shelves, so I decided to read one so I could discuss it with the girls. Having just finished "To All the Boys I've Loved Before", I can understand Han's popularity. The novel was an easy read with short chapters and likeable characters, especially Laura-Jean who was a very relatable protagonist. She made mistakes, loved her family, fell in love, felt confused and wasn't always there for her friends, but she was kind-hearted and caring, and I loved the bond she had with her family. Even though there was a love triangle, it was bearable which actually surprised me.Overall, "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" was a cute, enjoyable teen read.

I'd seen the Netflix movie a couple of times, but a student told me I should really read the books, so I ordered the whole series. Reading this was a lovely escape today from the current world I'm living in. Feel like I want to ration the other two books in the series for when I need that escape again.

What a sweet and fun story. All that teenage angst and drama, but absolutely believable, and funny, too. I meant to watch the movie, but something came up, and when I discovered the audio book, I went for that. I'm glad I did.

    Great narration by Laura Knight.

This book brings back memories of the boys I loved/had a crush on through high school. I remember all of the Peter's and Josh's. I wish I had this book back when I was in high school. This book is a great read for everyone of all ages. I love this book and it will be one that I read more than once.

This is such a cute story and I can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy. This was actually a book that I was able to get my daughter to read and she has no interest in books. At this point, she has finished the trilogy and is just waiting on me to catch up. More than anything I loved the relationship between the 3 sisters. I wish my sisters and I had been more like the song sisters growing up. Also I loved the fact that this book is just so darn sweet and innocent!

diverse teen fiction (love triangle - Lara Jean is incidentally half-Korean/half-white). Sexual content includes only kissing (L.J.'s sister has, however, had sex with her long-term former boyfriend, as evidenced in a note he wrote to her), but L.J. has rumors that she has done way more circulated about her. I think there is also some mild language (maybe a "shit" here or there, not a lot).

One of my entries for 2021 PopSugar Reading Challenge prompt: a book your best friend would love

It's one of those rare occasions when I watch a film adaptation before reading the book. My now-roommate loves the movie a lot. She kept on watching it many times and I told her I'd rather read it before watching, but then I gave in one December night when I spent a night at her home.
I do not usually enjoy this genre, but the close-knit family ties made me appreciate the story. I thought it's just as sappy as a typical teenage romance. Some part made me laugh, which I find surprising. (I don't usually LOL at humorous books)
Will definitely read her other books for when I want to chill.

I find this book to be overrated. The entire plot's pace was a little rushed, other times seeming to never end. I couldn't find myself liking the characters no how hard I tried. I couldn't stand Peter at all, and even Lara Jean annoyed me at some points. However, it's not one of the worst books I've read either. There were still some parts I found enjoyable. I do think that, in this rare case, the film was better than the book.

This somewhat reminds me of 13 Reasons Why, though of course far less macabre. It has the same kind of interlinking storyline aspect going on that draws you in, and was quite a good read. The characters are mostly likable, and it leads to a solid reading experience.

This was just needlessly and relentlessly dramatic. Lara Jean is a fairly flat protagonist and the love triangle is not convincing. I picked this book up, because the movie trailer hooked me. Here's hoping the movie can improve on the book.

A fun contemporary read full of mishaps and blunders, but nothing super new and amazing. I did enjoy the positive relationship of the sisters, and found the lack of drugs and other harsher elements to be refreshing.

Super cute novel! It's refreshing to read a story a coming of age story that doesn't fit today's norm. I was 99% sure who sent the letters as soon as the first one was returned. I also wonder where the locket went. Was convinced it would show up under the Christmas tree from her fake-to-real boyfriend.

I loved the Netflix movie and decided to read this one. I needed something light in the midst of this crazy time and Lara Jean was the perfect choice. Should I keep going with the series?“We smiled at each other and I feel that wonderful sensation of being known by someone.”“Sisters are supposed to fight and make up, because they are sisters and sisters always find their way back to each other.”

Cute is the first word that comes to mind. Compared to most of the contemporary teen novels I've read, this one is really sweet. I loved the family of three Korean-American girls who were so self reliant after their mother died, particularly the eldest. I loved their closeness. The romance develops so slowly because it's not supposed to be a romance, but it allows the characters to get to know each other without diving into physical intimacy first. Is this even possible nowadays? The book does end on a cliffhanger, so it made me want to read the next in the series. I imagine younger teens and middle school girls would eat this up. It was pretty popular in the high school where I worked, and is still popular in the public library.
