About this audiobook

Book 16: SEALs of Honor

A voice from the past cries out for help and Corey finds himself reunited with the only woman who’d ever rocked his world straight off the axis. But twelve years is a long time apart. Both of them have moved on, but, tragically, Angela is no longer the lighthearted woman he once knew and loved.

Caught in a nasty divorce and custody battle, Angela will do anything to keep her son with her. After seven years of a rocky marriage, she’s only just beginning to figure out what kind of a man her husband truly is.

Angela makes it clear to Corey she doesn’t want or need his help. She’s got her own insurance to secure her case. But Corey is determined to shield his old flame anyway because she doesn’t seem to realize her “insurance” is more than likely to get her dead sooner rather than later. Given that Corey’s up against a man with no intention of letting his son go, it’s a race to see who ends up in a casket first.

Dale Mayer

Dale Mayer is a USA Today bestselling author who writes for the young, the old and those in-between. Some of her books are hot, some are sweet. Some will keep you up at night with a light on to keep the boogie man away and some you'll want to cuddle close. She's long given up on trying to fit a specific genre. Instead she honors the stories that come to her - and some of them are crazy, break all the rules and cross multiple genres! And that's okay too. There is one guarantee with each book - it will be a great read - each and every time.

Terrible narrator. Sounded like a how-to book, not a romance.

Good story for the genre. Mayer has rung sufficient interesting changes on the consistent trope of the series to keep the books entertaining. I listen to them as a background while stitching as quilt or knitting.

In this particular audiobook, the voice style the director chose for Angelina (?) made her sound whiny, incompetent, and tiresome. The performer clearly had more scope and range. She could have sounded at least somewhat less annoying. I felt a little sorry for Corey at the end, but I had to assume that was only her panicked voice and she wouldn’t sound like that day to day, because I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
