- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow! I didn’t realize that staying in this 17 yr. marriage for my children, was not only toxic for them but, I was damaging myself as well. I’ve been divorced 16 months and I will say, that it’s much more obvious now than ever before and its most certainly not stopped him from trying to control me but, I will say that it’s been worth it....just for those moments of peace and realization that I tell myself “hey, you can do what you want, you don’t have to answer that call”
