      The description of the book is totally inaccurate. This is NOT the tale of a festive road trip. It’s the story of two high school best friends who wind up alienated from one another because of undisclosed failures and fears. They try to find their way back to each other on a 1,000-miles plus road trip which is often psychologically excruciating. Interesting characters, but a very slow ride.
