About this audiobook

Welcome back to Heritage, Michigan—the small town with a big heart

When she hears that the town of Heritage is looking for a new librarian, Libby Kingsley jumps at the opportunity.
Little did she know the library is barely more than a basement room stuffed with dusty, outdated books. What the
community really needs is a new building. But the only funds available are those being channeled into the new town
square, and the landscape architect in charge of the project wants nothing to do with her plans.

All Austin Williams wants to do is get the town square project finished, and he hopes it is enough to save the family
business. Then he can extricate himself from the town that reveres the brother who cost him so much. But the local
media and the town’s new librarian seem to be conspiring against him at every turn. Will the determined bookworm
find her way into his blueprints—and possibly even his heart?

3.5 stars--rating shown may vary depending on whether site allows half star ratings. This is another series that I've read out of order. I believe I won the first book of the series in LibraryThing's Early Reviewers giveaway, and then later, I also won the third book of the series--but somehow, I hadn't yet read the second book of the series. I would definitely say it helps to read them in order because I was a bit lost in the third book--not horribly lost, but there were things in that book that I didn't know when or why had happened. I liked the idea of a librarian as one of the main characters. I also liked the references to books used by many of the characters. The themes of the book seem to be grace and forgiveness--both forgiving others and forgiving ourselves. We have brothers who have a broken relationship with each other, a son who feels his father likes his other son better, men who feel that the women they love deserve better, a pastor with a past who hasn't forgiven himself . . . And others.I thought Austin's and Libby's confusion about Otis (the hippo) was cute. I hadn't heard the cabbage story before, but I am glad Otis moved before the auger came. (If you read book 3, you'll learn some secrets about Otis.)

Until I Met You is the second book in the Restoring Heritage series after You Belong With Me. Libby Kingsley has moved to Heritage to be close to her brother and to get a fresh start. She hasn’t been in town long when she meets Austin Williams who is also new to town. Austin has been contracted to redesign the town square, but the two new-comers clash when Libby who has been hired to be the town’s librarian throws a wrench in Austin’s plans. As they start to work together they begin to develop feelings, but both have complicated pasts and trust issues. Will they be able overcome their pasts to be together?I enjoyed Until I Met You. I appreciate that the characters have messy pasts, trust issues, and struggles with forgiveness, because that’s real life. I like the way that faith is discussed in these situations that are so relatable — past relationships gone wrong, damaged family relationships, a past that you can’t let yourself move beyond. The main characters, Libby and Austin, and also the secondary characters, Olivia and Nate, are well-written and likable. Overall, I’m enjoying this series, and I’m looking forward to the next book. (I also just found out that there is a prequel novella to this series titled P.S. Goodbye and a Christmas novella that comes after this second book titled While it was Snowing. So I’ll have to check those out.)*I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I received this book through Early Reviewers in exchange for a review.Until I met you is part of the Restoring Heritage series by Tari Faris, but it can also be read as a stand-alone. The book is a clean Christian romance. The characters have been formed very well and I took interest in several, wanting to know their back story. Our main characters are Libby Kingsley and Austin Williams. Libby has come to town looking for a new start, when she begins closing herself off to society after a terrifying experience. Austin is working hard to do a job for the town that his company bid on and must finish successfully to continue in business. The characters end up immediately and unhappily on eachothers radar both also have unexpected and unwanted things happening in their lives that are making waves. This book has a great message about foregiveness and how we can be restored in our relationships with one another and with God. This book will pull you in and keep you reading until you finish.

This is the story of relationships—those of Libby, Olivia, Nate and Austin. They each have to figure out what they want in their lives. The story also details relationships with God. I appreciate LibraryThing allowing me to read this book.

After reading the first book in the series by Tari Faris, I had high expectations for the next book - Until I Met You did NOT disappoint. This book checked off all of the boxes for me - small town setting, a librarian as the main character, and a storyline that warms your heart. The small town of Heritage is charming and full of surprises - like the moving statue. The theme of family, forgiveness and second chances is woven throughout and you can feel the emotion as you read. The characters are relatable and some more likable than others. The story follows four main characters - two brothers, Austin and Nathan, who have tension between them and two friends, Libby and Olivia, who get brought into the middle. I really enjoyed Libby's character and her love of the Carnegie libraries - one of the best parts of the book - wink, wink! I could say so much more, but it's really a book you should read for yourself. With that being said, I do recommend reading this series in order, as they build off of the previous book. If you like Rachel Hauk, Denise Hunter & Susan May Warren, then you will find Until I Met You to be an excellent read!

Until I Met You, by Tari Faris, is book two in the Restoring Heritage Series. This is a modern day Christian contemporary romance story. The story is very well written and background information is given so it could be enjoyed as a stand alone story, but it does reference characters and events from the previous book. This series is so good and gives good messages. The story focuses on Libby, the new librarian, and Austin, the contractor hired to do the town square restoration. Each of them is struggling with past relationship and family issues and is trying to move forward. One of the things that stand out for me with this story is the way Austin and his brother get along. Austin's brother is constantly telling Austin he will be there to help with their father and the failing family business. He is pastor and so heavily involved in helping others that his family comes last and he breaks his promises. Another is how much Libby's extended family does to help her and the love they share. The story contains a beautiful message of trust, faith and forgiveness.I received a copy of this book from Revell Reads. This is my honest review.

I received this book in Early Reviewers in exchange for a review.Typically I don't like "Christian" based novels as I feel they are too preachy. Ms. Faris does an amazing job of including the Christian based theme along with a great story line. The characters are likeable and fun and VERY realistic. She shows each person's insecurities and how they work against them and how they learn to cope with them and change that insecurity into growth. I look forward to more from this author.

When I discover a debut author, I'm always anxious to see if the second book will be as good as the first and author Tari Faris certainly didn't disappoint me. Until I Met You has great characters, a charming small-town setting, realistic situations, and there is also...romance! When Libby Kingsley and Austin Williams meet, you just know that something interesting is in the works. Yes, their initial reactions are a little iffy but we all know that chemistry is the key and Libby and Austin certainly have plenty of powerful chemistry!I absolutely love it when librarians get the spotlight and Libby's desire to visit all of the Carnegie Libraries is understandable and her efforts to get funding for a new library are spot-on! I also enjoyed the insights of living in a small town and the mention of characters from the Restoring Heritage series. It is, however, Faris's ability to completely capture human emotions that impressed me the most. Fear of failure, past hurts, and unresolved issues offer many conflicts but, in the end, we are allowed to witness the blessings that come from mercy and forgiveness. If you enjoy contemporary romance with a faith element, you will definitely want to read Until I Met You. I am giving it 4.5 Stars!I received a copy of this book from Revell. There was no obligation to post a positive review. These are my own opinions.

Second in the Restoring Heritage series Until I Met You is about two brothers at odds with each other. Austin is considered to loyal brother who never gave his parents any trouble and is trying to save the family business. Nat is currently a pastor but in his youth sowed his wild oats causing his parents a great deal of money to bail him out. Austin has always been resentful of Nat. Austin develops a love interest with Libby, a librarian new to the town but is related to Luke from the previous book. Olivia is in love with Nat but he doesn't seem to want the relationship to progress. He lets his past get in the way. I didn't care for Austin too much. I thought he was too harsh and unforgiving but toward the end I knew that this story was a retelling of the prodigal son. In the biblical story of the prodigal son the son who stayed home and did everything right was resentful of the son who squandered all his money but came home and immediately got forgiveness from the father. This is exactly what happened in this story. I highly recommend this book. Thanks to the Early Reader program at LIbraryThing for allowing me to read and review this book

Author Tari Faris treats readers to another charming small town romance with "Until I Met You", Book Two in her "Restoring Heritage" series. Heritage, Michigan is a town in the process of revitalization, and one of the things that definitely needs an update is the community library. Libby Kingsley needs a new start, and accepting the position of librarian will also allow her to be close to her brother, Luke, and his family. Libby discovers that library needs a complete overhaul--including a new building. Community funding is allocated for the new town square, and the architect in charge of the project, Austin Williams has hands full with limited resources, family issues, and the new librarian who is determined to provide Heritage with a renovated library. Libby and Austin bump heads from the beginning, live next door to each other, and will have to learn to work together in order to compromise and reach their individual goals. Along the way, can they become friends--and perhaps something more that they never expected? "Until I Met You" reacquaints readers with characters from Book One, "You Belong With Me", and the prequel. "P.S. Goodbye". This is a story filled with faith, second chances, and heartwarming romance. A recommended series for lovers of contemporary inspirational romance.Book Copy Gratis Revell Books

Publisher summary: Libby Kingsley dreams of a new life and a new library for the charming town of Heritage, Michigan. Things get complicated when her big ideas threaten Austin William's blueprints and his plan to leave town unattached. I read the advanced copy and thoroughly enjoyed it. As a reader and a librarian, there were enough literary references and library references and situations to make me wish I could visit Heritage and get to know Libby as a friend. Family dynamics were portrayed as true-to-life.For those looking for a good Christian read, this story shows people, both Christian's and non-Christians, as we really are - flawed, hurting, caring, scared, supportive, uncertain, searching and loving.I can't wait to get my hands on book one in the Restoring Heritage series, You Belong With Me, to catch up on the back story of some of the supporting characters found in Until I Met You.

Libby Kingsley has decided she needs a fresh start. She and her yellow lab, Darcy, move to Heritage, Michigan where she has family and a job waiting for her. Unexpectedly, her family has to leave town upon her arrival, leaving her alone to settle in. Her initial attempt to meet her hot next door neighbor Austin is a disaster as is the library she is supposed to work in is a disaster.Even though an attraction between the two develops, there are complications. Both come with baggage that is tough to leave behind. Austin is a complicated character. He has a troubled relationship with his brother, Nate. He feels his future was stolen by Nate's selfish and reckless actions. He feels pressured to save the family business. With one broken engagement behind him, can he possibly take a chance on a new relationship? Libby survived a horrific event which shook her to her core. Will she find the strength to move on?The narrative also includes Nate and Olivia's story. Nate is now a pastor and doing everything he can to right old wrongs. Olivia is in love with him for who he is now. Will that be enough for him to realize what he really wants? The characters stories are interwoven and readers follow them through their struggles. Strong feelings and misunderstandings don't make things easy for them. Mixed messages, frustrations and family conflict also come into play. Personal histories collide. Even so, the characters challenge and complement each other. Then there is the mystery surrounding Otis who is a statue of a hippo. The author brings to readers a heartfelt story written with warmth and nuance. Packed with faith, the hope for second chances, courage and love this book is well worth reading. Highly recommended.I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell through NetGalley. "Forgiveness is never deserved. It's a gift. If you earn a gift, it's not a gift anymore - it's a wage... Unforgiveness breeds anger and bitterness. I don't want that for me. And I don't want it for them. Because that kind of bitterness spills all over those close to you."What an incredible novel. Until I Met You is one of the best summer reads of 2020! Tari Faris' second novel will make you laugh, dance with joy, sob with the heartbreaks yet remain hopeful as two couples find themselves and each other in a small Michigan town called Heritage. This book has everything a reader could ask for in an inspirational contemporary romance book - fun antics and great banter between Austin and Libby, achingly beautiful friendship with regrets between Nate and Olivia, outside forces pulling the brothers Austin and Nate apart, broken pasts that need to be forgiven, and grace that covers all. You will never want to leave Heritage once you step inside this town and get to know the people who make Heritage what it is. I would recommend reading the prequel novella and the first book in the series to acquaint yourself with the cast of characters; it will make for a richer reading experience. Nate's brother Austin is in town just to rebuild the town square as a landscape architect so that he can resuscitate his family's business. Luke's sister Libby becomes Austin's next door neighbor and is also new to town as the town librarian hired to resuscitate the library. Their first encounter starts on the wrong foot and their interactions go further sideways every time they meet. Austin's grumpiness and Libby's anxiety both hide their past hurts but their softer and sweeter sides emerge as their relationship blossoms. Nate, the pastor in town, and Olivia, a journalist whose roots are in Heritage, are not newcomers to the series but their story finally plays out in this book. Nate's struggle with his past and truly accepting forgiveness and Olivia's frustration with finding peace and fulfillment in love and career are so real, raw, and heart-wrenching.I received a copy of the book from Revell/Baker Publishing Group and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

We once again return to the charming town of Heritage, Michigan, to follow the story of Libby and Austin. I liked the references to previous characters that we met in the first book in the series, You Belong With Me, and the prequel novella, P.S. Goodbye. However, this book can also be read as a stand-alone novel. Libby and Austin don’t like each other much at first and their spirited banter adds some dimension and humor to the book. I liked the growth of Libby and Austin both individually and in their relationship as the novel progressed. There was also a focus on repairing a relationship between brothers that was great to read. There are wonderful spiritual messages woven in the story. I particularly loved the theme of forgiveness. The book is well written and an enjoyable read. I recommend it to those who like contemporary fiction romances!I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Until I Met Youby Tari FarisBook 2 in the Restoring Heritage seriesRating: 4/5Tari Faris definitely knows how to portray such heartfelt characters with their own strengths and weaknesses. The reader is once again drawn into the small town charm of Heritage and it's fun to "see" characters from the first book. For me, this story was not only about romance but it was about the relationship between two brothers. Austin temporarily moves to Heritage to do a landscaping job but refuses to live with his brother, Nate, who already lives there and is the local pastor. Austin meets Libby, his neighbor who also just arrived to become the new librarian. The two have their own pasts to deal with and overcome in order to move on with their lives. Nate is battling his own demons of the past and finds it hard to give himself a chance at love with Olivia, Libby's new roommate. Olivia is tired of waiting for Nate to make up his mind about them and tries to find a journalism job out of state. Can these two couples find a way to work together and find forgiveness and love? These intertwined love stories were masterfully written and the depth of brother's characters was very well done. The incorporation of faith and forgiveness was vital for the characters and I was impressed with how the author dealt with the effects of holding onto unforgiveness. My thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No positive review was expected and no compensation received.

Thank you in advance to the publisher, Revell Reads and the author Tari Faris for providing an advanced review copy as part of a launch team. A positive review was not required or requested, and all words are my own.

After being accepted to the launch team, I decided to purchase the first book “You Belong With Me” (YBWM), which was the author’s debut book. This cover is similar to that one in keeping with the series. And, it is definitely adorable. Until I Met You (UIMY) is definitely a series book, and is best read after the first one to get a better idea of the theme and characters. It can be a standalone, but I think the reader will get a better idea by reading the first one.

Where to begin with this review?

It hasn’t been that long since I read YBWM (about three weeks ago) and I felt something was off with this novel. It was a bit difficult to get into at first. I didn’t remember the first one being this … difficult.

To be honest, I loved and loathed this book at the same time. As I haven’t read too many triple series (usually I get books 1 & 2; or just #3; sometimes #1) in a row, it is hard to measure it against everything else I’ve read, but this was one of the books that I was struggling with – definitely a ping-pong battle here.

At times I wanted to keep going, other times I wanted to stop. But, I cannot DNF (did-not-finish) a book. I can’t. Unless it is a library borrow, I read it to the end.

And, I’m glad I did. The messages at the end were definitely some strong messages that I think would benefit almost anyone in this beautifully written book.

This continues about 8-9 months after YBWM. Some of the characters from that story return. And, it is obvious that Luke and Hannah had a happy ending (they are not the only characters that did – Janie and Thomas did as well). Luke and Hannah are expecting their first child and there are complications.

This is Libby’s tale. She was introduced in the first book – she is Luke’s cousin/adopted sister. Is a bit tragic with Libby’s history.

This round there seems like that are too many characters to follow; Otis is still the real star here – up to his old antics. Trust me, Otis is a real character. One unnecessary and unneeded character was Becky. Though I get why she showed up – she was definitely unneeded. At least Madison didn’t show back up. Derek Kensington is mentioned but doesn’t seem to have a regular appearance. I also wonder what Derek and his father are scheming.

As this is an ARC, there are some inconsistencies; otherwise very similar to the other book in the series.

I enjoyed it at times, frustrated at times. At times I didn’t quite know where it was going or what to think. And, that is life, for the most part – you don’t know where it is going, you get frustrated, and you enjoy.

    Anyway …

There is so much going on in this book:

** Budding romance between Libby & Austin
** “Will they/won’t they” with Olivia & Nate; continuing from YBWM
** Moving the schoolhouse to be used as a library
    ** Saving the Williams’ business
    ** Austin & Nate’s father with Alzheimer’s
** Austin & Nate’s tiff from the past
** Nate’s past that gets revealed by Dale Kensington

The Libby/Austin; Olivia/Nate; Austin/Nate discord seemed like too much at once and it seems overloaded with conflict. This has more conflict than most romance novels, so for me, it was far more realistic. Which I wasn’t sure was a good thing or bad thing.

This is told in third person, alternating with Libby and Austin.

I actually connected with Libby due to her love of books and loved the cute idea of a “serial reader”. The idea of her bike, Petunia, was a sweet moment as well.

There is an abundance of miscommunication with the characters and it is center on the Libby/Austin; Olivia/Nate; Austin/Nate dynamics.

Faris does have serious moments in here, namely with Luke’s newborn; but there is also some humor. One such gag is a bag of change going back and forth between Libby and Austin. I truly enjoyed that light-hearted moment between the characters. Austin, despite his own issues and hang ups was cute in those moments with Libby. The speed-dating article with Olivia was a bit funny as well.

The restoration of Heritage seems like less of a plot here than in the previous novel. This story centers more on the characters than the town.

It takes a while to really get things going between the characters as well as the “heart” of the novel – about 2/3 of the way in. When you think they’re making headway – something happens to set them back. At times I was absolutely heartbroken by some of the issues Libby faced, such as her feeling bad for everything including Luke’s kidnapping when she was younger. But, as her adopted mother tells her – everyone makes their own choices, which sometimes leads to mistakes. Libby is also told that she can only do what she can with what she’s given.

Faris weaves in some beautiful moments, heartfelt drama, and high tensions in this novel. It’s emotionally engaging and detailed. I have never read a novel that twisted my thinking and emotions more than this one. And, I really did end up enjoying it.

There are strong Christian themes in this clean read distributed by Revell – church attendance, references, themes of forgiveness, grace, and mercy are also abundant. This is evidenced more so when Nate’s past is revealed by Kensington.

This is where forgiveness by God and man become two different things. While God forgives us – others may not. And, that is what people often grapple with – the forgiveness of others.

It is the last 1/3 of the book that really grips the reader – God’s grace can transform us is a huge theme there at the end and it will be telling to see where Austin/Libby and Nate/Olivia are in the next novel. There was one “plot hole” in this – I was wondering about the key Nate found.

The last chapter was the reveal of title “until I met you” is a reference to one of the characters not loving again until they met the person.

As I said, I am definitely glad I read this emotionally charged, deeply emotional book with the rich, deep Christian/faith themes and poignant messages. The reader is treated to a wonderful quote from a book by Corrie ten Boom – “never be afraid to trust an unknown future with a known God”. It is a beautiful quote and definitely quite relevant in these unknown times.

Recommended for those who read the previous novel – “You Belong With Me” as well as those who enjoy Christian Fiction and Christian Romance. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is to be out Sept 8, 2020. I really enjoyed this romance. I received this book for free and I voluntarily chose to review it. I've given it a 5* rating. This is the second book in this series and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. This story is full of broken hearts, including the new pastor. This includes several serious issues and about how they deal with them. And a lot was centered around an old building that is now being used as a new library. Another book lover who loves book facts, is the new librarian. There is lots to enjoy in this book. Ill look forward to the next book in this series

A couple of things to note. I was not aware that this book was the second book in a series nor that it was a Christian fiction book. I am not a religious person so I don't actively seek out books that have a religious aspect to them. Even though I had not read the first book in this series, I felt like I was still able to follow along pretty well. It seems to be one of those series where you don't necessarily need to read the books in the correct order or even read them all. I was instantly curious about Libby moving to this quaint little town in Michigan to re-open the public library. I loved that she is clearly an Austen fan (as am I). From the moment she met Austin, you could feel the chemistry between them. I was really intrigued to see where it was going to go. I loved that Libby had the idea to move the old one room schoolhouse to the town square to become the new library. I also enjoyed the chemistry between Olivia, Libby's new friend and roommate, and Nate, the pastor and brother of Austin. I'm not sure which couple I preferred as they were equally interesting to read. My only issue was that everything seemed to move so quickly. I would have liked to maybe see one couple focused on in this book rather than two. It was hard to become fully invested in either relationship because of how fast the pace was. Overall this was a very cute book but I don't really see myself reading any of the other books in this series.

Until I Met You by Tari Faris is a continuation of her Christian fiction Heritage series and this one centers around the estrangement between brothers Austin and Nate. Austin is trying to rescue the soon to be bankrupt family landscaping business, ever frustrated with his now redeemed prodigal brother Nate. Nate is trying to right a thousand wrongs with never-ending volunteerism and being a new pastor. Their love interests, Olivia and Libby, are as much of a train wreck, as these two brothers. I could not get into these characters at all. The story seemed to limp along and there was no real meat to the plot. Secondary characters were more interesting than the main ones.

Until I Met You (Restoring Heritage, #2) by Tari FarisLibby is happy to be the new Librarian for the small town of Heritgae Michigan. She has big plans, but will need carrying out her wish list. Austin just wants to get the Library project done, and move on with his life. There is a mutual attraction between Libby and Austin, but they each have secrets that are holding them back. Libby is very kind, still trying to (emotionally) recover from her past and learn to trust again. Austin is struggling with past issues with his brother, he must overcome these as well in order to live life to it's fullest. The story moves at a steady pace with an original plot. The characters are well developed and likable, each hiding secrets. Although Libby and Austin are the main characters, there is his Nate and Olivia. Nate is Austins Brother who is a Pastor with a past. And Olivia, friend of Libby.Overall I found Until I Met You quite enjoyable. Although this was the second book in the series I still was able to follow along, and look forward to reading the first book You Belong with Me. I highly recommend to those who enjoy a clean (Christian) Romance.

Sigh! Another wonderful story by Tari Faris. Until I Met You works as a standalone, but I recommend reading You Belong With Me prior to reading this--if not just for the wonderful background and feel for the characters. Beautiful, wholesome storytelling.
