About this audiobook

Hate mail was one thing. This was quite another.

Radio talk show host Eve Reilly is used to backlash from her pot-stirring on-air commentary and interviews.
But now it seems a disgruntled listener is resorting to more than angry words to express their displeasure. When a
suspicious package arrives on her doorstep, Eve turns to law enforcement for help.

Police detective Brent Lange can’t find any evidence to link the string of unsettling incidents that follows, but he’s
convinced they’re connected. As the harassment grows more menacing, it becomes clear someone wants Eve’s voice
silenced—permanently.

But unless he can track down her elusive foe, the gutsy woman who is willing to take risks for what she believes—
and who is swiftly winning his heart—may not survive.

Really struggling to finish this one. I get that main character is a conservative talk show host and I suppose we're in her head, but my goodness just way too much "real world" political divisiveness for my taste. Really soured the experience for me and I generally love anything by Hannon because she never disappoints. Until now.

More like 3.5 stars for me--but rating shown may vary if a site doesn't allow half star ratings. It's more than a 3 but not a 4--closer to the 3 mark than the 4 mark.I won the second book of this series in a give-away and have already read that prior to reading this one. Hannon also keeps most of her books in the St. Louis area so characters from other series are sometimes mentioned or show up in a different series. It did grab my attention from page 1 and keep me turning the pages. I like the idea of a radio personality not being afraid to point out things like "you preach tolerance, but only if we agree with your view". I like the sisters and their closeness.I've read a lot of Hannon's books lately, and it seems her current M.O. is to create a family with 3 children (3 brothers, 3 sisters, etc.) so she can write a trilogy where each book features one of the siblings. (This book is Eve's. Book 2 is Cate. That leaves Grace.) Another M.O. is that there's usually a life or death event that wakes one or both of the characters up to the fact that they don't want to lose the other before exploring the love/attraction that's present. Lately, too, she's had multiple perpetrators acting at the same time--Which can make it hard for readers to figure out "whodunit". (As one of my friends would say, it's not a traditional mystery where the reader has all the clues needed to solve the crime if he/she can string them together.)The Al and Dan threw me a bit. I had, at one point, thought that one character had the opportunity but didn't see how it fit with that. I got the three high school buddies confused easily--probably because we mostly see them using their nicknames. I suspected one of them but turned out to be wrong in what I suspected him of doing. We don't really find out what happened to Meg and/or Steve. Steve has charges against him but we don't see his trial or if his lawyer talks him into a plea. We know Meg left Steve but then, we never see her again (at least in this book).

I loved the opening line of the book. I was hooked. The only thing I found far fetched was the elderly neighbor’s basement room. I felt sad for Meg who had a rough time in marriage. At least she got out before it was too late.

Title: Point of Danger (A Triple Threat Novel #1)Author: Irene HannonPages: 384Year: 2020Publisher: RevellMy rating is 3 out of 5 stars.Eve Reilly is the host of her own conservative radio talk show. She is a Christian and has no problem broadcasting her beliefs on air. She has the usual detractors but leaves those up to her assistant and boss to filter and respond to. She is also an avid DIY proponent and is remodeling her house. One day a package is left on her doorstep, one that is ticking. After the threat is dealt with, a message is discovered in the box. Eve won’t run away from a threat. She isn’t sure the message is as threatening as the detective seems to believe. As Eve spends some time with Brent, she senses a budding romance could be developing.Detective Brent Lange is the detective assigned to Eve’s case. He is immediately attracted to her but does his best to keep a level head as this is his first case as a detective after serving ten years on the force. He thinks the threats to Eve are much more serious than she gives them credit for. He is determined to keep Eve safe as the threats to her grow more and more dangerous. He tells her he isn’t the man for a relationship due to his past, but his heart disagrees. This was an okay novel. As much as I tried, I just couldn’t connect with the characters. I liked Eve’s courage and willingness to stand up for her beliefs, her compassion and caring for her elderly neighbor, her relationship with her sisters. I want to escape the real world when I pick up a book, but this one brought the real-world politics right back to center stage. I would have liked more mystery to the story. I will get the second book in the series in hopes that there is an improvement. I have read many of this author’s books and have always enjoyed them, but this one for me just didn’t fill the bill.Note: The opinions shared in this review are solely my responsibility.

I can always count on this author to write an action packed story that gives you a sense of being part of the team. Her descriptions are on point and the characters jump off the pages with intensity. I was hooked the minute someone finds a package on their doorstep ticking. I’m pretty sure I would scream, slam the door and dial 911 as I scurried into a closet . Eve knows this is not something that will go away. Someone wants her dead. Being a conservative radio personality has its perks but it also brings out people who disagree with her views. The hate mail she gets is suspicious as whoever it is starts to get more aggressive. I think it’s time to get the police involved and catch this person. Brent is called in to investigate and soon realizes the escalation is getting out of hand. Can he save Eve before she is silenced forever? The action never stops as the two try to stay one step ahead of danger. There is a bit of romance that doesn’t overshadow the story. Some may wonder if the views presented in the story by Eve were more personal but I think the story is just a look at what might happen when someone disagrees with political views. Overall a good story with a great ending.I received a copy of this book from Librarything Early Readers Program. The review is my own opinion.

With Point of Danger, Irene Hannon begins a new series, Triple Threat. Point of Danger features Eve Reilly, her two sisters, and policeman Brent Lange as its main characters. Eve works as the radio host of a controversial conservative talk show. Trouble begins the day that a fake bomb in a box shows up on her front stoop. She meets police detective Brent Lange at the beginning of the investigation. More threats follow as the book progresses, and it becomes apparent that someone wants to shut Eve up for good. As with many of Hannon's other crime novels, this one is set in the St. Louis area, which is a refreshing change of pace from most crime books. My only quibble with the book was that Eve might be a bit too unconcerned about the threats she receives, given the current state of craziness in the U.S., but it does make for a much better story that way. And, you have to hand it to her for not giving into the bullies. This is a great read for fans for suspense novels.

When a new Irene Hannon book arrives at my doorstep, I know I will be up late reading! Point of Danger is the first book in the new series Triple Threat. First, let me point out that the cover art is just as suspenseful as the storyline itself. I know they say "Don't judge a book by it's cover" but sometimes they just draw you right in.Not only were the main characters intriguing , but the secondary characters were fun to get to know as well. Although I won't go in to detail on them to save any spoilers from leaking out. The main female character, Eve Reilly, doesn't hold back on her radio talk show regarding her stance and opinions. She's not only strong in her beliefs but also in her resolve to fix up her bungalow on her own. Her strength and determination shine throughout developing her character. Secondary characters are just as well developed and fun to get to know, from her sisters to her sweet neighbor.Being from St. Louis, I don't always enjoy reading about my hometown because any inaccuracy pops out. But Irene Hannnon did an excellent job portraying the neighborhood, architecture and local hotspots throughout. Ted Drewes custard is truly all that it's cracked up to be!Point of Danger is an excellent read! It would make for a great book club pick as well. There are plenty of discussion topics that could come from the pages. If you like Dee Henderson, Colleen Coble or Nancy Mehl, you will enjoy Irene Hannon's suspense novels!

I loved the suspense in finding out what was going to happen and how they would be able to sort it all out. Eve is no stranger to controversy but now it seems that her mouth has gotten her into hot water. She finds herself the target of someone and it is up to Brent to find out who. In the course of sorting everything out, Brent soon finds himself caring for her and her ways of standing up for all she believes in. Will he be able to find out what is really going on before it is too late. I received a copy of the book to read, the review is mine.

Eve Reilly has strong convictions and she doesn't care to share them with others so her job as a morning talk show host seems perfect until....someone decides that her opinions should be silenced. Point of Danger takes readers on an exciting ride filled with twists and turns but it also focuses on the relationship that develops between Eve and her police detective protector Brent Longe. Their chemistry is immediate and it continues to grow but are they willing to take a chance when they both are involved in high-risks jobs? Author Irene Hannon knows how to draw readers in, allow them to form their conclusions, and then completely blow their theories out of the water! This is an enjoyable first book in her new Triple Threat series and I look forward to reading what is ahead for Eve's sister Cate.I recommend Point of Danger to all who enjoy romantic suspense and I give it 4 stars! Wow! I honestly don't even know where to begin!! There is so much to this book that writing a review without giving anything away seems rather impossible. Although many people have recommended Irene Hannon to me in the past (because of my love for suspense novels) I have never gotten any of her books although many of them are on my TBR list. So when I was asked to review the first book in her new series I jumped at the chance! In this book we meet SO many characters but the main ones are Eve Reilly and Brent Lange. Eve is a conservative radio talk show host. She is outspoken and has no qualms whatsoever to tell it like it is. Brent is attracted to Eve but keeps his guard up as he has some issues from a past relationship that he is trying to come to terms to. He is definitely not a guy that wears his heart on his sleeve. The relationship between them moved in a manner that I would find very realistic. This story has SO many twists and turns! Just when I think I have it all figured out something else came up. It was awesome!! Definitely kept you reading. When the mastermind was revealed I was a little shocked. I must admit by that point I had my suspicions but still was kind of shocking the way it all played out.Overall this was a great story!! It also is very relevant with todays current events in our society. It did leave me wondering about some characters so I am hoping that we will get to see some of their stories in the second book, which will be about Eve's sister Cate, releasing next year!I received this book from Revell. I was not required to post a positive review. All views expressed are only my honest opinion

Very apropos for today#s security challenges and tumultuous culture, Irene Hannon#s #Point of Danger# goes beyond classic romantic suspense with a multifaceted plot and a complex array of characters. This is the first of Hannon#s books that I#ve read, and I love starting fresh with the first novel of a new series. I will admit that I was unprepared for what unfolded within these pages, but that is part of the experience and why I almost always prefer going in blind, so to speak. At first, I did have difficulty with the panoply of characters, most of whom entered into the narrative without introduction for reasons that become clear as the story progresses. As someone who has a terrible memory when it comes to names, trying to keep everyone straight did slow down my reading and cause confusion for me during the first half, but I trust that this will not be everyone#s experience. Some of their identities are not divulged until the ending, and I think that Hannon made the correct choice in her portrayals because I certainly did not guess who the perpetrators were ahead of time!Hannon excels at recognizing and incorporating contentious issues into #Point of Danger# without over-politicizing them. Given that I read this in the days before the 2020 presidential election, that#s saying something. Heroine Eve Reilly, host of her own radio talk show, does seem to me to be a bit over-idealized; although I admire her character, she is written without any true flaws, and that makes her less realistic to me as a reader. The police detective, Brent Lange, on the other hand, not only has demonstrable flaws but also is willing to acknowledge them. The secondary characters are well-drawn, and their motivations authentic. As the plot wrapped up, I found myself completely taken aback by where things went, and I consider that a success on the author#s part. I appreciate Hannon#s positive representation of the police in this story, as well as Eve#s conservative viewpoints, which are clear but still respectfully presented. At its heart, #Point of Danger# offers readers a glimpse into love found at the intersection of hope and fear. Whether it can or will prevail depends on learning to trust and to not give in to fear. As one of the characters advises, #In the end, though, you have to let people do what they#re called to do and put the rest in God#s hands. Once you manage that, life is much less stressful.#I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Be silent ... or be silenced.Eve Reilly, a call-in radio show host, has a strong conservative stand which accounts for her fabulous numbers in the polls. People love to be able to give their opinions without worrying about repercussions - after all, it’s a radio show, so you can be at least a little anonymous. However, her outspokenness appears to have created an avenue for some to spout hate. But how far are they willing to go?The author has done a fabulous job of creating more twists than one can possibly figure out, certainly the mark of an incredible story! The threats become more frequent, the possible perpetrator list grows and Detective Brent Lange still has no leads that can be substantiated. Will this culminate in Eve being injured or even killed? If this is book 1 in the Triple Threat series, you certainly don’t want to miss the next one!I loved how Eve stood strong in her convictions through it all, giving strength to those around her, even though she was the intended victim. As the reader, I have to wonder if I would have the courage to stand up for myself and what I believe in.....This ARC was received through Revell, Baker Publishing Group and NetGalley. Point of Danger, by Irene Hannon, is book one in A Triple Threat Novel series. Eve is a talk show host who has received a ticking box at her home. Brent is one of the law enforcement workers that is called to the scene. As Eve continues to get more threats, Brent works to solve the crime, often going way beyond his responsibilities. This is an awesome book. It is fast paced and full of action, suspense and mystery. I did not see the ending coming at all. The story has strong characters that hold true to their beliefs. I liked how Eve and Brent worked their Christian beliefs into their conversation. I especially enjoyed the relationship Eve has with her sisters and how it contrasts Brent's family dynamics.received a copy of this story through Revell Reads Bloggers Program, this is my honest review.

Point of Danger by Irene Hannon is the first book in her Triple Threat series. Eve Reilly is the host of a radio talk show. She is very vocal about her beliefs. Now someone wants her silenced – permanently! Police Detective Brent Lange is in charge of Eve’s case. He finds that none of the threats seem to be linked but his gut instinct says they are. Now, Brent is in a race against time to figure out who wants Eve dead before they actually succeed. There were a lot of characters to try to keep up with in this story and at times I had to thumb back through the story to figure out who was who. But that didn’t stop the suspense from building. You weren’t sure who to trust. The ending was a total shock! I never saw that coming! I enjoyed the comradery of the three sisters. I can’t wait for the next book!I received this book from the publisher for my honest review.

I requested to read and review this book through Revell Reads. I am thankful to be chosen and this review is totally my own opinion and freely given.I have read one other book by Irene Hannon in a very genre. So much so, that I thought it was a new author. This book is just as good as the other book and I am happy to have read it. This book is a suspense/mystery genre and is very well written. The characters are all believable and the story flows well. I was hooked from the very beginning. There are a lot of twists and turns and it keeps you guessing as to "who done it". The only editing errors I really noticed was the misuse of the word I instead of me. Otherwise, the editing was very well done. This is important to me as a poorly edited book can ruin a very good story.I give this a 4 out of 5 star rating and would recommend this book to my friends.

I've read and thoroughly enjoyed almost all of Irene Hannon's previous romantic suspense titles and quite a number of her romance novels. Point of Danger is one of those reads that I can't say I didn't like but I can't say I enjoyed it either. I felt the primary character, Eve Reilly was very rigid in her beliefs as well as being incredibly naive. I didn't like her, but then I've read numerous stories where I didn't like the main characters so I can't even say that was the problem here. I've never thought of myself as a judgmental person, but I simply didn't like Eve because of her political views and the fact that she judged others based on her rigid conservative views cloaked in her definition of patriotism and what the "founding fathers intended for this nation." It took me a few days to realize why this book didn't resonate with me and it shocked me. After I got over the shock, I was then appalled to think that I could be so petty and judjmental about a fictional character, but there you have it. Perhaps it's simply due to the rampant animosity raging during this election cycle, I can't really say. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to pick this book up again in a few months and read it with clearer vision and less animosity towards any of the characters.

Terrific storyteller Irene Hannon begins her new "Triple Threat Series" with "Point of Danger"--a thrilling inspirational contemporary romantic suspense read. As a successful radio talk-show host who says what she means and stands by her personal beliefs, Eve Reilly is used to stirring up feedback which is not always positive--and sometimes is quite strange. However, a bomb scare at her own front door is terrifying and brings law enforcement to the scene. Detective Brent Lange spent a decade as a street cop, and now he's working his first case as an investigator. The bomb turns out to be a fake, but the spark of interest between Eve and Brent is quite real. A threatening note included with the "bomb" package, as well as a continuing series of disturbing events, keeps Brent concerned for Eve's safety. As they work together to find out who is making the threats, the awareness and attraction between them can't help but grow--but each of them has personal issues to overcome. Eve and Brent are both persons of faith, and it will take all of their faith to see their way to a bright and shining future filled with love and hope. I truly enjoyed this book. It had a plausible plot and I was interested and invested in all the main characters. The book got off to a fast start and I loved the fact that it was so relevant to today's headlines. It is a Christian based book in that many of the characters are Christian's but I don't think it would be a turnoff for non-Christians as there faith defines them but they don't use it in this story to evangelize but rather to explain their worldview/point of view. It doesn't get preachy in a way some Christian books do.Lots of action and suspense in this book and there is room for more backstory and adventures to come in future books by this author in this series.I received an arc for this book with the hope of an honest review.

When popular radio talk show host Eve Reilly finds a package on her front porch which appears to be a bomb, she meets Detective Brent Lange. While the bomb turns out to be a fake, the threats continue. It appears that a co-worker's husband may be behind the threats until they escalate while he is hospitalized. In the meantime, the attraction which Eve and Brent feel towards each other intensifies even through Brent is convinced that he cannot love anyone or ask a woman to live with the dangers inherent in his job. Can Eve and Brent find happiness before one of them is killed? This is a fast-paced book and enjoyable read.

I knew when I picked up this book it would be a great one, and boy, it sure didn't disappoint. Irene Hannon did it again, you really don't want to miss this one, it will keep you on the edge of your seat. It will also make you think that you are reading today's headlines, so current!Who wants Eve dead? Well, you will think you know, but don't get two comfortable, the title will give you a hint, but even then I could not fantom all that happens here.Beside the evil lurking, and surprises, yes big ones, there is the love of family. Sister's there for one another that will warm your heart and put a smile on your face. There is also the beginnings of an attraction between the victim Eve and the detective Brent, but most of all these people show a great faith in God.This is suspense at it's finest!I received this book through Net Galley and LibraryThing and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.
